As many of you might know...or might not, I had a major power surge that messed up alot of stuff...and short circuted the motor in my Hard Drive to the point that having simply the power plugged in to it, makes the whole systems power stop.

SO...

I want to create a list, mostly for audio (but midi will certainly not be shunned) of many of the good free filters out there...Kind of in the same vein with the "Essential" sticky. Sorry Mac guys, Im on a PC, but if somebody wants to add, I can certainly add a "mac" Section.

I want this to also be a group effort, and I will try to compile as things come.

I think, even now, the list can look a little intimidating...

Hopefully some of you other T users can scratch your heads, and hopefully we can get a little more utilities and such.

As the list grows, I hope to take some of the current plugins out...we really dont need 4 lo pass filters do we?

Ya need to add some great free EQs to the list.
That would be Posifopit and Nyquist.

(actually, since Posifopit came out, I hardly ever use Nyquist, so if you want to keep the list slimmed down, my vote goes to Posifopit)

guitar junkie....forgive my ignorance. I work with Macs ALL DAY, but I dont use tracktion with it. Which Plugs on the list are (or are not) compatible with Mac? I would like to give the macs a space.

great effort - but don't forget you are on KVR - this list is already stickied in the effects and instruments section in many different ways.

Not the least of which was the KVR user survey which reports out the top effects and instruments.

I voted no...but that's 'cause I don't need any more dang plugs (and the ones on this list offer a good start)...

...yet, I seem to be addicted to having more pluts, and I love any thread that talks about good plugs!

I need a plug fix about every hour...

...is their a recovery house for this??
