Can't set latency

Hmmm...this didn't happen to me before when I installed T1 and T2 on a different 'puter...


...but on this one, I can't seem to get T2 or my audiophile 2496 soundcard to take changes in the latency rate. Actually, I was able to change it once, but I don't know what I did.

What happens is that no matter what I do, it goes back to what it's set at. Doesn't matter if I restart T2 or the soundcard.

Any ideas?? :bang:

Exit Tracktion and all other programs that may try to use the ASIO driver. Open the Delta control panel. Set your latency, 'enable' audio app use of monitor mixer and patchbay if you want, and then re-launch Tracktion.

Should be sorted.

I don't remember EVER being able to set the Audiophile's latency from within Tracktion. For some soundcards, you just can't.

Go to the M Audio Delta Control Panel, Hardware Settings tab. Look at the section called Codec Sample Rate. There's an item called Rate Locked. If it has a tick mark beside it, the sample rate can't be changed. If you want to change the rate, remove the tick mark.

If you follow the advice above but find that your buffer size resets itself everytime you launch Tracktion, my guess is you are using the latest driver versions. My Delta 66 did exactly the same thing when I updated the drivers, but has behaved normally since I removed them and re-installed the last-but-one..

Thanks for the help...got it working.

IIRs was right. Everything else didn't work. But reinstalling the previous version of the driver fixed it. And I can change the latency with T2 running. Not a prob. It wasn't a problem before either (with my old computer).

Cool 8) I guessed that might be the problem from the thread title actually.. ;)

P.S. that one time you succeeded in changing the buffer size it was probably a side-effect of changing the sample-rate.. :nutter: :shrug:

P.P.S. The M-Audio drivers have been dead stable for me for years: I suspect the latest version only adds support for Pro-Tools "M-Powered" so we probably aren't missing much as Trackioneers :)

Yup, I think your dead on. So glad you'd already worked this one out. I would have never thought of that solution, though now it seems pretty obvious!

Glad I don't update my 2496 drivers! :lol:
Still using the Driver version: 5.10.00.0051. I don't even remember the last time I updated the drivers. Hey, they just work... :-)
