that is exactly what I am going to do......Squids wrote:By the way, anyone new to this stuff really should buy AmplitTube 1 right now (or the upgrade to AT1 if they have AT LE or LIVE...even from a Digi, Mackie or Emu system that qualifies for it). I have confirmed the question someone had about "will the AT1 upgrade qualify for the free upgrade to AT2?" The answer is YES. I mean, AT2 is around five hundred bucks normally but you can get it for half price by just buying AT1 right now (and you get AT1 which is a whole different plug-in with different presets and sound... and it is going away when AT2 comes out so this is actually your last chance to get it... hmmmm... think about that! Just in case there are sounds you wanted from AT1 it becomes free in this situation so you might as well... and if you do please go do www.esoundz.com or anywhere you like of course).

OK thanks Dave. I'm going have to wait and pay full price if I decide to give AT2 a test drive.Beardedone wrote:

Can't believe this threads still going.
Can some one give us a summary of the thread? Have any Amplitube 2 demo sounds been uploaded? The people who have heard it would do they think, the second coming or just another ampsim?

LOL, this thread is like the Energizer bunny, it keeps going and going and going and going....
Here is a summary of the thread:
--------------------------------
-Not everyone likle the ad of AT2. Some say that it looks cheap and dirty. Some where conserned about their families catching them with the chick on their monitors.
-Some think that the sound that AT2 will make will be as fake as the woman's breasts. Some don't care.
-Squids really, really, really like AT2. He say it is miles ahead of AT1. He will ( is ) be using it in production.
-Squids isn't affiliated directly to IK, and he didn't work on AT2. His company is a "sister" company of IK and they make sound samples for them.
-Latency is an issue for some for that IK SuperIO pedal. While other think it is a none issue.
-All people that heard the AT2 demo at the AES show liked it and found it interresting enough to give the demo a try. Well, except one person that said it didn't sound very good at lower volumes and didn't seem to like the sound overall.
-Speaking of demos, nobody is sure if there is going to be one, or if it is going to require a dongle like the Waves GTR.
-Speaking of dongles, AT2 will use a dongle from Synchrosoft as copy protection. This doesn't mean that IK hates you, it just means that they wnat to protect their baby with the toughest known protection today.
-Not everybody liked dongles. Some people will not buy AT2 because it will use dongles. They say it can rendre system unstable, even inoperable.
-Not everybody likes Squids attitude. One member in particular will not buy the software due to IK and Squid's attitude.
-Fritz likes to chew on guitar necks.
-Squid and Beardedone share the same musical tastes
-The Stones use AT1 in live shows
-Not everybody likes the Stones.
-Hink's breakup song is a Stones song.
-Hink's vocal talent is inversely proportional to his guitar skills.
-Women are not targeted by IK for AT2. Even though they should if they want a larger cutomer base.
-Squids will be taking requests for sound patches in a seperate thread.
-No, no AT2 sounds or samples yet.
-boogooloo1 have finally 500 posts!
-AT2 will likely NOT be released this month. putte sais early 2006. But then again he was saying 2009 before ( or was it 2012? )
that pretty much sums the whole thread
Let's see how long can this sucker go! LOL

Yes, for me that's the problem, Squids - I can either get GR2 right now, or wait until I've heard/tried A2. I'm certainly not taking the risk that I might not like A2 better than GR2, which, to me, is fantastic!Beardedone wrote:OK thanks Dave. Man! That guy in the video demo sounds exactly like I imagine Squids, even when he gets up in the morning:
"Morning, dear - what's for breakfast?"

A3ntar, your summary isn't entirely accurate but good of you to recap it all for those that don't want to read 54+ pages.
I think you got it wrong about my affiliation with IK. SR and IK work together practically as one company on many things. However, the distinction is that I am here representing myself, SR and esoundz. I have no authorization to represent IK on KVR except for giving my opinion and approved advanced info on IK products. But, there are many times where I represent IK such as at trade shows, special events and other business situations that are under NDA (non-disclosure). I prefer to be thought of as a partially biased third party programmer/musician around here.
So, speaking of programming, while we mostly program samples I am enjoying the opportunity to program patches for AmpliTube 2. I'd have done it anyway for myself!
Those are the best reasons.
Anyway, we have a good thread going on in the SR forum: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 9&start=15
Patch requests are being made (and yes patches are cool either as quick starting points or for the final use for many). Check out the thread for more info. There's something cool I think I am going to do that might make it kind of fun to be on KVR and getting involved with it (in a positive way btw as opposed to dwelling on less relevant stuff such as what has previously been going on in this thread). Go check it out!
