Just remember that this is largely a support forum. For every one problem you see here, there are a thousand people who haven't encountered it or won't encounter it.
95% of "bugs" ever reported on here don't affect me in any way, shape, or form. I leave Tracktion running (literally, I don't power down my computer for the most part) for weeks at a time without any crashes or mishaps.

Of course! I keep it running to check up on the 'bugs' posted by you lot, and I have 2 songs near completion right now. It's just the damned vox that drive me nuts. A singer I am none.

No matter what bugs I've run into with Tracktion, any temptation to use another sequencer is instantly put to rest by one feature: The ability to EASILY change tempo and time signature all over the place. For what I had to do in Cubase/Nuendo, it was a nightmare.
If the next best option was eXT, it would lose out on lack of that feature alone (for what I use it for anyway)...

Certain tempo change bugs are well-known and well-hated by some users, who will write in a thread something like, "How can anyone WORK like this???" Which is fair enough for the task at hand, and I can't argue. A bug is a bug. But then someone like jplanet (or myself, I have to say) considers T's way of handling tempo to be a godsend and haven't actually encountered those bugs.
So even when there IS a bug (and not just end-user or system-specific problems) it's not always an issue.

Hey, I hope you don't lump me in with those who keep bashing Tracktion. I'm actually a big advocate and continue to recommend it to students and anyone interested in disc based recording. The workflow is great and the feature set is deceptively deep.
The features I'd personally like to see added to Tracktion are already in Live so why not use both? It seems to me that Live is simply a much more mature program, balancing innovation with proven concepts. I think that's where Tracktion is going and I'll keep checking in to see how it's coming along.
As a side note: I just noticed last week that Vernon Reid makes appearances on Ableton and Mackie's sites and is quoted as using Tracktion with Live rewired as well. As if any of us need the vote of confidence

Interesting. Being an IT guy, I am curious what the variables are for problems, and whether they're running OSX or Windows, and what version.
It'd be nice if Mackie did a public Beta, and people could download it for free, as other companies do. It'd be a fairly sizable install base, and it'd allow them to really get the bugs ironed out before they start selling it.
