Where are T2 presets stored on Macs?

Hi Guys,

Every so often I run System Optimizer X on my Mac.

After each time I run this software, T2 asks for the language selection on launch and reverts to it's default colour scheme etc. This is no major deal but I have just noticed that it also deletes any filter presets I might have saved...Tracktion EQ and Sampler presets for example.

One of the things System Optimizer X does is 'Clean System/Application Cache'. Is this where T2 presets are stored on Macs?

Could anyone advise me on how to protect my T2 presets please? I don't really know anything about this but I'm guessing I may be able to copy some preference file or something and move it to a safe place before optimizing my system :?

Hmmm....You know I've been doing this as part of my optimize/backup my hard drive routine for years now. It's a habit I got into from the days of OS 9 and Norton Utilities. I think I'm going to have to reinvestigate the whole system/disc optimization issue.

Thanks for the repy Webmob, I've given System Optimizer X the flick :)

Could other Mac Tracktion users share their approach to this matter particularly OS X 10.4 users.

with thinkertool and Onyx you can start the system periodic scripts.
And i take carbon copy cloner to backup the system.
But do not play to much with onyx. :wink:
My system is running now 3 years without reinstalling it.

Yeah dont use it just run disk utility every week or so repair disc permissions.

You can save your presets by exporting them as an fxb. file.

So say you got lots of presets you did for a VST synth or summat just load the synth up and at the bottom it says load/save presets press save and it will say whether to save as a single fxp or as a whole bank fxb.

Cool, thanks Webmob. I also use Carbon Copy Cloner; it's saved my bacon a couple of times especially when I've had to change the size of disk partitions :)
