Just found out this wonderful VST works on Receptor!! This will bring actual MIDI File import ability to receptor!..but it is more.You can bring in Phrases, record them, play them back in any order. I am just finding out all the things this can do. You can even use it for a pattern maker for your fav drum VST.
Basically, after installing with the unsupported method( no problems!) you instigate it in receptor, then within Phrasemaker, you bring in a VST dll that you want to play back phrases from. Then hit the record button, and record some phrases, or import a MIDI file.Then the pattern plays back when you press a key on your MIDI kbd. It also plays in the key that you depresss. You can also assign "phrases" to midi cc messages( just finding this stuff out)
Still experimenting, but I bet you can have multiple instances of it on recptor and play back complete multi-timbral performances at a touch of a finger!

terms&Concepts of the Phrasemaster
Phrase:
A phrase is a sequence of notes like the ones in your sequencer. What makes the difference is that the phrase will be played while a key on the keyboard is pressed or the sequencer sends a single note to the Phrasemaster. Until the note is released the phrase will be played.
Multiphrasing:
The ability to map different phrases to different keys of the master MIDI keyboard so you can change the phrases while playing. Great for performing: Trigger and transpose phrases with one hand while changing them with the other.
Transposing:
Every phrase starts with a note. This note is called the 'root note' of the phrase. If you press the same note as the 'root note' for triggering the phrase, the phrase will be played exactly as recorded. If you press other notes than the 'root note' the complete phrase will be transposed to start from this new note. So you can shift all the notes of the phrase up or down according to the triggering note. This feature is of great value for variations.
The concept of transposing also applies to the velocities of the notes of a phrase.
Metahost:
A host behaving like a plugin to the main sequencer. A metahost can host plugins while being a plugin itself. The Phrasemaster is a metahost and a complete sequencer under the hood. It behaves like a plugin to the main sequencer, resequencing its events and passing them to the hosted plugIn. The output of the plugin is sent back to the main sequencer.

However after testing it some more on receptor, it appears if you have a plug instantiated
in Phrasemaster, and you save it as a Mult-preset on receptor, then going to another
multi-preset on receptor and coming back to it, it restarts receptor.
BUT
You can create a patch for Phrasemaster with a plug instaniated and patterns recorded
( creating your own custom bank for PhraseMaster on Receptor,,basically FXP's) Then, You
could save JUST THE PhraseMaster with no Plugins loaded, as a Multi-preset, THEN
you can load whatever Phrasemaster preset you want and it will work. You just can't have a plugin
loaded into Phrasemaster saved as a Multi-preset but you can load them afterwards. Hope this makes sense.
