After reading posts from various guys on the topic, I've done some investigating, with Sonicbytes ERA as my
midi send plugin.

1. A guy on the forum claimed that choosing a midi device as track output won't work. This does work, but if you have vst plugins after the midi send plug it won't. Just disable them(including the volume slider) and it works fine.
Steps: Choose your designated midi device as track output on the track you are having the midi send plug. Disable all other plugs on the track. Go to another track and choose the midi device you chose as track output and enable it for record. Voila.

2. TobyBear has a very nice package called midibag, which includes a miditovst plugin, insert it right after the midi send plug, and choose the appropritate midi device. Note: I find that using this with MIDIYoke is much easier than with designated midi devices, since midiyoke patches the midi out to the midi in of same number, making it a virtual midi patch field.

Good luck, have fun!
