This is not an issue if you use the clip's gain control.. <edit> you do realise it won't 'clip' if you turn it too high? Not if you have some headroom in your master section anyway..

I am aware of that, but if you have 100 clips that's alot to of gains to tune up.

Offcourse it increases the noise level. That's the whole point. But after noise "removing"/gating it is at the highmost level with a sensible signal/noise ratio...

I never record in 16bit, only 24 and 32 float.

Drag a filter on to the clip. Repeat. Rinse. Drag again. Repeat. After 10 instances of SIR have been dragged on a clip you may experience a temporal abberation.

Is there some reason why it's not available on midi clips? I'm sure there is a perfectly good reason for it, but I'm so up there right now that I can't think straight:)

That defeats the point.

The reason it's hard(er) to implement is that midi clips in themselves make no sound whereas audio clips do.

This will keep me busy for hours. Now, midiclips need those too, and we want OMF import, right?

Yeah, we would want midi clips to have audio out in some way... but it is possible, with some tweeking I guess, or hope atleast:)

Could be fun to drop a synth on a midi clip. Or more than one synth. Or drop a piano. Of course then T wouldn't know what to do with midi and audio parts. Unless it combined them into a Midio stream.

Handling drop-to-MIDI clip doesn't need to be any different than drop-to-Audio clip. It's just a visual reference, not a 'real' thing. There's no good "theortetical" reason that it shouldn't already be implemented.

There might be other real-world problems with implementing it into the code that I'm unaware of, though.
