I never saw any multipoint envelope that's forced to start at zero. But even if those existed, it'd just be a matter of.. inserting a new point at zero, no?Because when its inverted, it starts at maximum whereas teh kind of multi-stage envelopes I was thinking about always start at zero.
i've got Storm2, i really tried to use it, really tried - a lot - and i failed... i failed to find it more useful than a toy. the pseudo sequencer is really a pain in the ass, the clip-audio player is a joke, Rewire implementation is nothing more than a half-lie, and the cpu load is impressive. some synth have nice sounds, tho.jens wrote:imo it's ridiculous to say it's a toy - it only show that the one who says it either didn't really try it or hasn't got a clue...
as far as i remember (i desinstalled Storm2 more than a year ago), there was a vsti version, but i never found a way to use it without redhibitory struggles. Rewire could have been a smart way to use it within Sonar, but it didn't work properly. it was also a workaround to use more than 3-4 synths and 4 FXs, the internal limitation of one instance of Storm, as it was said you could rewire several instances together.jens wrote:What were you trying to achieve?
that's really weird...Wopelka wrote:as far as i remember (i desinstalled Storm2 more than a year ago), there was a vsti version, but i never found a way to use it without redhibitory struggles. on my computer, the cpu load was monstruous as soon as i was trying to use more than a synth and a couple of FXs. and i haven't talked of the graphical environment that was locked to a certain screen resolution yet... nightmare.
i guess - and hope - that Storm3 is way more efficient, but i won't give Arturia one more penny for this product.
no, i admit. for me it was easier to forget about it (i'm lazy you knowjens wrote:Did you contact Arturia's support?
See, now you are starting to get it. I did, once. Biggest mistake I ever made [ASR-X].speccyteccy wrote:Hands up anyone who's ever bought something on the recommendation of someone else - you're all idiots!
I reckon that is more times than I would switch between the two during the entire process of finishing a song. I almost always get one or the other right first and then find something that works with it. I doubt that I have ever gone into the piano roll to tweak anything based on a change I made to the patch its playing. But then, I tend to use modulation over automation.speccyteccy wrote:My point was that it's one click to switch to the piano roll, then another to switch back to the instrument, then one click to switch to the piano roll, then another to switch back to the instrument, one click to switch to the piano roll, then another to switch back to the instrument, one click to switch to the piano roll, then another to switch back to the instrument, one click to switch to the piano roll, then another to switch back to the instrument, one click to switch to the piano roll, then another to switch back to the instrument, one click to switch to the piano roll, then another to switch back to the instrument, one click to switch to the piano roll, then another to switch back to the instrument, one click to switch to the piano roll, then another to switch back to the instrument, one click to switch to the piano roll, then another to switch back to the instrument....
Its channel-centric, a unique paradigm for the simple reason that no-one else would do it that way. FL does simply because it started as a drum machine rather than because its a really good idea. So its an extra batch of data, because it still has a playlist and a mixer, that you need to reconcile and any accountant will tell you that a 3-way reconciliation is a whole lot more work than a two-way.speccyteccy wrote:So what, exactly, is wrong with FL's workflow?
No, what you downloaded was the demo of ORION Platinum, for $299 you get a boxed product with a CD containing 600Mb of high-quality samples and presets plus a printed installation manual.I downloaded Orion Platinum ($299) which I assumed was the top of the range package, hence I'm comparing it with FLStudio XXL ($299) which includes Sytrus.
There are no limitations. Absolutely none whatsoever. I could happily use them to make any kind of music forever. Why would you even think that?Again, if you're happy with the limitations of Orion's synths, then I'm happy for you, but don't expect everyone else to accept those limitations!
Because you are human. And in my everlasting quest of self improvement, could you please let me know why you consider me to be "pitiable"?
Sure but that comes back to what I started with, its a whole lot more effort to set-up for a simple task, which 99% of the time is what we use them for.tony tony chopper wrote:I never saw any multipoint envelope that's forced to start at zero. ...hmm, it probably would work better as a vsti.jens wrote:b.t.w.: I didn't upgrade to V3 as it doesn't work as a vsti anymore (which pissed me off big-time)
