And still no joy

Playback of 30+ tracks is ok, but video still skips and jumps along, rather than smoothly moving across the screen.

Don't know what to try now...besides Live.

A question: do your edits feature a lot of cut-up clips? Ie. do you use the "/" function a lot?

Nup, not at all. Justin had a theory that the imported aiff files were putting Tracktion off (a confirmed bug, apparently), but I converted one of the projects to wav and it still behaves the same.

Just so I'm sure there actually IS a problem, can you tell me if YOUR cursor (or whatever it's called - the blue line) moves smoothly across the screen, Lunch? Mine jerks across in small increments, and the time/bar display in the right hand bottom corner isn't smooth either.

I'd feel like a bit of an idiot if it's MEANT to work like that, but I can' see that being the case - horrible way to work...

No, mine goes perfectly smoothly. My problem used to be any time I opened a MIDI track to an 'editable' size (ie. piano roll) and zoomed in so that the whole clip had to scroll fairly quickly to keep up.

Since 2.0.1.13, I've been perfectly smoove.

I feel your pain, and I wish any of my advice had been more helpful.

It may well get less smooth as CPU load increases -- which could be smart behaviour -- though I don't recall offhand.

when my cpu is maxed out it gets all sticky, so sticky it is hard to stop it.

What video card? I'm curious, as many cards are geared towards 3D gaming and don't do vector illustration that well.

Hi!

I also notice that the cursor-movement gets less smooth as the number of tracks increases.
CPU usage don't seem to have anything to do with it, so it's probably a video-card related problem.
I'm on my laptop now, will check how my other machine works later...My video card is
ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 and I use screen resolution 1400 x 1050 with 32 bit colour quality.

If I decrease the number of visible tracks by freezing some tracks the problem goes away.

This isn't a big problem for me since I don't do a lot of precise audio chopping at the moment
(surely not enough to drive me to Live anyway), but maybe Jules & Mackie should take some
crappy video-cards like mine for a test drive.

have you tried deleting the level meter filters from the tracks...?

the same here - every meter on every plugin and every level meter refreshes every 2-3 seconds - impossible to read anything. I must open session in trackion 1 were i can have 10 times bigger session and its smoooooooth like babys ass.
I tryed everything - i even uninstalled T before upgrading to the newst version - nothing helps.

I have ATI Radeon 9100. 1 GB RAM in dual. 3000+ Sempron, Abit AN-7 with nForce chipset.
