Guys and gals of Muse,

You guys freaking RULE!!!!

I love this Receptor. I can't put into words how glad I am. My friend is so impressed, she's buying one, too. My computer is green with envy. Now I can shift my plugs to a purpose built machine and let my computer just record it.

I can't stay but I did want to say thanks.
Death to all dongles!

I want to echo those sentiments. I've had mine about 36 hours now, and I have gotten VERY little sleep, and almost LESS work done (non-musical work, that is). I cannot find ANYTHING wrong with the Receptor. It is a meticulously designed, well-thought-out, and studily-built unit...inside and out.

AND THE SOUND QUALITY WILL JUST BLOW YOU AWAY COMPLETELY!

My Dell has never been happier. No more peaking it's CPU. Tonight I recorded (bounced really) 5 simultaneous stereo tracks into Sonar using SDPIF and all the ADAT outs. Not a snap, crackle, hiss or pop to be heard. And this was using Collosus with four instruments, Atmosphere, Slayer and ASynth all at once. (FYI, my unit is maxed out with 2GB memory and the 160 GB drive)

I hope Muse sells a BOATLOAD of these things, they deserve huge and tremendous success. Uniwire will make it even better, and support for mainstream high-end VSTs like the IK, NI and Spectrasonics stuff makes this SUCH a killer piece of kit.

And to top it off, they are a great bunch of people to deal with. Let me end by quoting myself from another thead
Muse Support is the BEST I have ever encountered. I got my Receptor yesterday and had the same registration issue, which was solved with ONE 15 minute phone call. Another issue with registering Collosus was solved within an hour. Two other minor issues were solved via this forum overnight. I've worked with computers and music computers for many many years (I'm pusing 45) and I have NEVER NEVER had an music computer/software experience that was this gratifying and this trouble-free (considering the complexity).

Within 24 hours I have this thing up and running, using all 10 outputs with Sonar, and have cross-graded 7 commercial VSTs. Unbelievable. Fabulous. Ground-breaking. And again FABULOUS support, absolutely fabulous.

If you are even THINKING about a Receptor, now is the time, with the big Collosus sale going on at East West.

be sure to install CYGNUS on it, and "your journey towrd the receptor path will be complete"

Actually, you will find theres a huge amount of free plugins that work well..even Synth1 !!so..you are really just beginning.Take advantage, download a few and try them out. The Krakli and UGO synths are worth getting aboard.

Oh yeah for sure. I put both Cygnus and M42 Nebula on there the first night. Two of my favorites!!

.. IF it would also be possible to play the artvista grand piano via the receptor it would be very interesting for our band. we´d even need 2 of them then .. :)

and the schnitzel would be if even amplitube could be used ..
(cause together with the already receptor compatible ewqlso and the mtron our 2 keyboardists would have all they need on the receptor.)

oh, and final question would be if i can get 2 receptors for the price of one .. :hihi:

Hi Putte

We showed the Arts Vista piano at AES, and it works really well. We are busy testing it (among a dozen or so other libraries) and we should release it some time in November.

Ditto for Amplitube, it was shown at AES, and we are testing the installer and should release it in the next month.

As far as 2 for 1 is concerned, that's a problem that is a bit harder to solve!!

Sounds like your band is pretty interesting based on 2 keyboardists and your choice of plug-ins. Love to hear an MP3 if you have one available... is there a link?

All the best

.. hi there bryan .. :)

wow, that was a superb reply. the Artvista AND even amplitube .. huuuiuiuiuiui!

there´s no link yet to the music of "sorry computer", even though we´re already done with the postproduction of the 15 songs. i´m gonna send you a mp3 .. goodie?

IF things work out the way we hope them to then its very likely that we end up with 2 receptors on stage.
its funny, cause i was never interested in something like receptor.
and wuuuuusssshhh, suddenly i keep on saying "ahh, it would be great to have one or 2" .. :)

Hi Putte-

I'll look forward to checking out your music!

It's funny, a lot of people have this attitude of "I don't need a Receptor, I can just do it all on a computer". Those are the people who have never touched, used or even really investigated what it is all about, and once you do, you realize that Receptor is really a new class of instrument, an instrument that gives you all the upside of what you can do with a computer, without the downside.

As a drummer, I personally can't wait to replace my drum module with a Receptor, and with the new version of BFD coming on line any day now, and DFH soon to makes its appearance, I will be putting my old drum brain on eBay and will never look back!

Cheers

Bryan

P.S. My wife and I are thinking of coming over to Germany to take in the Christmas markets (my wife is from the UK, and we're spending Christmas over there) Any recommendations on some particularly nice market towns? I know, I'm being a stupid tourist, but hey, we're all just tourists in life, right?

TC: try layering M42 + Cygnus + PS-1 (using something from your PS-1 bank of course). Talk about FAT SPACE!!!
