Prince is a very good live artist indeed, and I heard he is a somewhat good guitar player too.

Mrs. Turner is awesome also on stage.

Prince is amongst the most fluent and soulful guitar players ever. IMHO he gets little credit because he can play everything else. Damn, you need to here the dude on bagpipes

I may finally be exposed as being tone-deaf, but I've seen few newer live recordings, and Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode sounds pretty similiar to what he sounds on their newest few records, The songs may not be very chalenging for a vocalist (wouldn't know) but at least he's equaly average or whatever, if that's the case.

Happy Rhodes - (speaking of otherworldly female vocalists). The live tracks I have heard are quite stunning.

As an aside, I saw the Police on their farewell tour in Buffalo, NY (which, as I recall, was their last show in the continental US).

They did "One World (Not Three)"

Sting did an amazing tour de force: they vamped on "One world is enough for all of us" riff for quite a while, and he changed the hook nearly every time - each being more catchy than the last. It was really impressive - superb improvisational chops.

And really, love him or hate him, he is one of the most distinctive vocalists of the last 25 years.
