rejoining splits

i know what you mean, that's why i said both "join clips" and "group clips".

personally, i think we'd be better off having group clips appear sooner. i can't think of any reason why you'd want to 'physically' weld the clips together as a file over having them simply act that way via grouping. with groups things would be far more flexible (easy ungrouping and having back your original bits and bobs). if you wanted them as wave files, well, you can just render them - surely that's not something you'd need to do crazy-often over having them simply grouped together?

that's my opinion.

Group Clips are more likely, IMO, since they fit in with the highly non-destructive Tracktion environment better than a render based function like I described.

On the other hand, they're probably much more work to implement, so I'd rather have a Join function in a T2 point release than have to wait until T3 for groups. I'm making a lot of assumptions here, I guess.

Suffice it to say that I want something better than what's there right now (Render and Export), and the sooner the better.

Even the simplest things take man-hours and some dedicated work. If they have plans for a different kind of group clips feature, no matter how simple yours is I don't see that they'd necessarily jump to implement it, that's all.
