A bit of a cheap shot there,SX3 has had a couple of updates already(3.1.1) while Sonar 5 is brand new out of the gate and not exactly a "bag" of bugs for most experienced users.Anyway,I could go into too many reasons about unecessary USB bandwidth and go on and on about chipset bandidth distribution not being created equal depending on what your using and what kind of performance you want and what your priorites are bandwidth-wise,and I won't get into code here, but as far as I'm concerned you have no point,at least in the way you presented it.If your setup works fine for you and your use and this form of copy protection is acceptable to you then fine, leave it at that, but just know that that isn't the gospel for everyone.xRAVENx wrote:SX3 runs fine, no slowdowns compared to SX2 here.
Sonar 5 uses no dongle, and it's a bag of bugs, not usable for any real work here.

My point was, one product uses a dongle and works, the other uses no dongle and is unusable for my applications - and that I prefer a product that uses syncrosoft and both work over one that uses no dongle but doesn't work here.
And since the 'bag of bugs' I mentioned occurs here, I feel perfectly fine calling it that. I also pointed out 'not usable... *here*'.
As for unnecessary USB bandwidth, I've got a range of things working splendidly well connected via USB 2, including the dongle.
This wasn't meant to start some sort of silly hostwar. I bought both hosts, I intended to use S5 for some of my work, but it's not possible, due to the abundance of bugs I'm experiencing. I'm no fanboy of either product, I simply stated one of them isn't usable on *my* setup, while the other is.
I'm not going into comparing support here either, because it'd be comparing lemons to lemons.

I was just stating a fact about you know what and it got deleted, guess I broke the rules. And you know what - that's what rock'n'roll is all about. It's about breaking the rules and stickin' it to the Man

But I want AT2
Squid sais it is much better than AT1. I listened to GR2 and it wasn't bad. Nothing earth shattering. I am tired of logging on to www.amplitube.com and seeing the chick with the fake boobs.
I want to hear some samples...IKMM are you reading this? we want updates...
