Tracktion stops outputting MIDI on loop or mute on/off issue

I was running the registered version of 1.6.0.1 with no MIDI issues. I've just purchased Trackion v2 and installed 2.0.2.8. Now, external midi devices do not work correctly.

For example, when using the loop feature, it will play through once, but then nothing again after the loop point. Plugins remain unaffected by this. The only way to get midi devices working again is to turn "end to end" off and on again, then click Play again, switch to/from the settings page, or restart Tracktion. Also, if I'm not using the loop feature and just mute/unmute a track whist a song is playing back, that will perminenty stop all external midi too. Connecting a midi monitor shows that all midi output from Tracktion does indeed cease.

I had an old T2 demo version 2.0.1.13 setup file. I've installed this and the problem does not occur. Reinstalling 2.0.2.8, the problem comes back.

At first I suspected my usual midi device (Creamware SCOPE), so I installed a Midiman Midisport 2x2. This exibits the exact same symptoms.

However, to confuse things, if I change the Wave device driver from the usual ASIO to Directsound, the problem does not occur. I can't use Directsound - runs like a dog. I don't understand how changing my primary soundcard driver from ASIO to directsound is effecting a separate midi device. For a test, I want to change the primary output to <None>, but Tracktion doesn't like this, even though I have no audio tracks in my 'test' project, only one midi one.

Anyone else witnessing similar issues?

Thanks for any comments.

Are you using midi clock or midi timecode? There is a known bug with midi clock and midi timecode in 2.0.2.8.
