Major/minor bar lines

I think it'd be great if the major and minor subdivisions of the bar count (near the top of the screen) were more musically subdivided; i.e. instead of having every 10th bar or 20th bar be in a larger font, make it every 8th bar or 16th bar. Powers of 2 are good. I'm surprised T doesn't do this already.

What's more musical about 8 or 16 bars? Nothing, it's just more conventional. Maybe you could try writing music in 10 bar sections instead - allow yourself to be inspired by something unusual.

I agree -- the current dividers somehow "throws" me a bit when trying to locate my whereabouts in a song.

At least every second bar is also emphasized in the timeline, as opposed to every 5th!...

Do you think a 10 bar alignment (at the new edit default zoom level) is more common than alignment to 4 bars? Obviously there are going to be alternatives, I don't have a problem with that, but unless it's fully configurable, I think it should be aligned so that the majority (or plurality, technically) of people find it useful.

I was wrong to call 4 more "musical", but I think it was pretty clear what was meant.

To be honest, I don't really care if it's 10 bars, 8 bars or anything else. If it was ever changed, I doubt I would notice, I only answered in the first place because your first post, Warmonger, managed to arouse both the pedant and the contrarian in me (it doesn't take much ).

PS, i love this FR: for 2 reasons, 1, i never noticed it did this (witch left me lost & not knowing why when doing my arraingments)

& 2, because know i know what i need to get around in the way that makes sence in most music (well all the music i make)
