BR: First note drop in external midi

This one is new. And it doesn't happen in the old 2.0.1.13. The new version of Tracktion 2.0.2 appears to miss the first note in every midi clip when controlling an external synth. This happens whether in loop mode or note. VSTi are played correctly so there is no problem with them.

Reinstalling the old version Tracktion 2 corrects the problem.

I tried cutting the number of active midi outputs but this has no effect. RTPM on or off makes no difference.

BTW: Do I need to report this to Mackie?

I also have this problem. First note of a midi clip which goes out to an external midi device is dropped. Very bad...
But this only happens when then Loop-In-Marker is set to the beginning of the midi clip. If you set the marker one bar before the midi clip, it works perfectly.
My Tracktion version is 2.0.2.8.

Yes, I have just tried it again. This is what mine is doing too. Its not the first note in the clips as such, its the first note it plays.

So the first note that Tracktion should be sending out is either not sent or masked by something else.

Tracktion needs a bit of a run up before it starts.

You know, I think this is linked to the midiclock problem many of us are getting. The first section of midi data is not being sent correctly, whether it be note-on or midi timing pulses.

Still its a bug alright and it does need to be looked at.

1st note bug isn't new, you just may have not noticed it before. ;-) It doesn't surprise me, since all first note bugs (MIDI-to-VST, Reason Rewired, and now MIDI-to-external) are likely caused by the exact same bug. Once that bug is eliminated at the source, they'll all clear up at once, I should think.

It's funny, 'cause it SEEMS like it'd be a little bugette to squash, but Jules once upon a time indicated that it would be a major undertaking to fix, so while we continue to wait, let's at least remember that it's a core-level problem and won't be fixed any time soon (likely... of course, I don't speak for Mackie).
