We had 3 people at the show that commented here.
You can find it if you have the patience to dig through these 69 pages.
2 of them gave it a very promising review.
1 was complaining that some major functions were not implemented yet (like the new dynamic response feature)
So I am not surprised about further delay, obviously it's not ready yet.
Meanwhile my patience ran out and I purchased some real tube equipment.
I might still buy AT2 but maybe my new gear will be so great (still waiting after 5 days  they said I will have it in 2-3 days ) that I will skip AT2 all together.

I've sort of managed to ignore this annoying hype thread until today. I mean, 69 pages of useless hype and no one has ever actually heard the plugin!
Dude, if you do actually read the whole 70 pages, there is very few hype here for AT2.
There was many discussions about multiple stuff. I would say that the boobs and the latency of the SuperIO pedal took most of this thread.

As I said, very few hype about AT2, more critisicm than anything else.

And btw, three persons have actually heard the plugin, and 2 out of 3 actually liked the sound it is producing.

but AT2 is just vaporware isn't it?
"All day long, when I see you, I think of you no clothes, wa-wa-wee-wa, but is very wonderful."

Yeah, but if you put a plate over the vapor, it will condense and dripp into liquid....Never mind :)

If you want to be paranoid about it, every program can be considered vapor until it's released. Then it solidifies.

I trust IK to produce the goods. If it's next week, fine. If it takes longer, fine. I'll have AT1 to learn with until AT2 does come out.

good luck on your wait my friend...see in the summer of 04 Akai was aquired by Numark...so far I believe they have dropped their entire pluggin line...we'll see if they develop more...even so it will still be Numark... :?
Thanks, Hink.

I figured something serious occurred that delayed or permanently screwed the project from coming to fruition. After almost 3 years of wait, I, of course, have found other software to fulfill my needs, but I always remember that, at one time, I was looking forward to the Akai VZ8.

Again, thanks for the info on Numark.

Now I guess I should wait for FXpansion to release SoL or especially Drum Nine (both previewed at NAMM in Jan, 2004) :? Back in the day, they also mentioned MindFX (I think I heard mention in early 2003).

Point is that there are many products that are announced way too far in advance that it sees that they may never see the light of day (or they may have been scrapped along the way).

Cheers,

Rabban

Thanks guys. No rush for me either, I just picked up an old '84 Marshall JCM800 2x12 combo, nothing like the real thing!

ahh the 800...50 or 100 watt?
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

A3ntar you sad obsessive to be fanboy. You're right next to squids with this. Sense of reality was that green swooshing thing that went past you in *that older amplitube hype thread*.

So wait, did I get this straight? 3 people have actually heard the thing?

oh nevermind, it's got 20000 combos! it's teh unbeiliewgekjh!!!

oh, wow! I did't believe it before, but now I believe it, AT2 must suck because almighty Kingston says so. (just for the record, how are you better to say what AT2 will be than, say, the people who have actually heard it or tried it?)

I'm not sure how I've been able to live without your spot-on analysis before. I make sure that I don't go out and buy the product since _you_ say so...

Oh, wait, I will anyway.

That's the true fanboy way of reading what I said. scroll back and note that I didn't actually dis amplitube, but this unbelievable hype surrouding it. You're obviously feeling it too.

I have no clue on how it's going to sound, but knowing IKs track record, I suspect it'll be as perfectly generic as the rest of their stuff.

I know y'all are feeling all warm and fuzzy inside because of the massive hype. Just remember it could also be constipation.

Post

besides, what can I say, I am the almighty Kingston and you must obey me! :x :x

What hype? The thread here is mostly full of people moaning about the "hype" as in the tits and that it was announced in january. I will see when it gets here if it's any good and buy it if it is. And I love your way of defending your views by calling others fanboys. Go on and read all the pages and tell how much of it is hype. (Oh well, of course it can be considered hype that this thread is alive, but I wouldn't think so. Maybe you should speak after you've read everything that has been said)

No you don't. You don't know how anyone feels except yourself. But if it pleases you to set up strawmen to knock down, do go on. But know that your estimate of who is and isn't hyp-mo-tized by the hype machine might not be very accurate.

Doesn't seem a very good way to spend your time though, tilting at windmills this way. *shrug* Hey, whatever blows your skirt up.
