I guess I spoke too soon.
I'm using T 1.6 with an M-audio omni studio USB on my Compaq Evo N600c laptop (p3-1.2, 768MB). I can get the latency down to "very low" and there isn't any "glitching" per se, but periodically, there are teeny tiny little clicks. You can't see them in the wave view, but they play back in the same place each time, so I know they are there. I've raised it all the way up to "medium" and it still seems to happen. I've switched from the USB 2 card in my dock to regular USB in the dock to no avail.
My new indigio IO (cardbus) doesn't exhibit this behavior. Surprisingly, I get higher CPU utilization with the cardbus indigo than with the USB omni studio- even if I route the tracks to the indigo IO for mixing (freeing all those glorious cpu cycles the marketing said I'd save)
Sucks too- the omnistudio has some nice routing features.
it occurs to me that I've not plugged the omnistudio directly into the laptop. maybe the dock is doing something funny.
Surprisngly low latency? USB audio interfaces

Seems to be a problem when my laptop is docked, regardless of what USB port I use (laptop, built-in dock, USB 2 card in dock). With the laptop undocked, it doesn't seem to do the little clicks...
In case anyone else might be trying to use their laptops in a dock and running into quirks.
