Hi,
I'm new to this forum. The last few weeks I have been amazed about this thread to seem everlasting. Maybe it will outlive AT6 eventually.
However, since I wait for AT2 and Gr2 at the same time perhaps you are interested to know that NI send me an email stating shipping of Gr2 will not take place prior to 30 november, whatever that means.

.. well, i just love Amplitube 2. it has effects for simulating a guitar amplifier, and some reverb.
that means if you dont have a real guitar amp you can still pretend as if you have one. with Amplitube 2.
it sounds like a real amp for many people, though its a piece of software you can run in your computer.
.. (only if you have one, of course. but i guess you know that!)
if you turn up the reverb knob the sound will get more space, if you know what i mean.
tonight i am going to try out the "distortion", cause many songs i like use that on the guitars as well.
(again, its only a simulation here.)
instead of having a thread with 73 pages you people really should just buy it instead of talking about something you didnt even tried! ..
(btw, does anyone know if AT3 is around the corner??)
yours,

Bump for the this dying thread.
Who wants to bet we will not see AT2 this year?
By the way I revisited AT1 and sat down to create new presets.
I did this by trying to recreate sounds of my new real tube preamp.
I learned a lot by A/B-ing them back and forth endlessly until I managed to almost completely match the sound.
Conclusion AT1 is a very good plug.
By applying EQ and a slight compression before AT1 I could get almost any tone that the real tube preamp gave me.
The two points that AT1 is bad at:
1 bass is muddy compare to the real thing.
2 Dynamic response is not quite there
All in all I fell in love again with AT1 so much so that I am returning the real tube preamp, mainly because I can not stand the hum (this preamp is hailed as one of the quietest in the industry, it has even XLR outputs) and the lack of workflow integration.
Yeah let me say this again, once you get used to the convenience of plugins it hard to work with hardware again. Major PITA
By the way I am talking about this preamp (6 tubes)
http://www.vhtamp.com/product-news/valvulator-gp3.html
I also had to opportunity to work with Cornford Harlequin 6watt amp, another very good recording amp:
http://www.amptone.com/cornfordharlequin.htm
But again the hum (worst then the preamp) and the inconvenience of hardware.
By the way I do have all the right cables, ground lifts and even a balanced AC power system in my studio so the hum is not my mistake, even the rep told me that a little hum is simply in the nature of the beast.
Well my tube mic pre-amp I currently use is dead quite compare to these, combined with AT1 it's still a winner for recording.

LOL!! What the heck?! That acoustic guitar is one sweet mamma! I read the website and this guy has thought his way through most problems we face with normal guitars. We want a review when you get it!
I personally tried AT1, but found it to be too muddy and unclear. Hoping AT2 will be much better.
Concerning AT2, I say it is out before 2006. There is a month and a half left

Wow. That acoustic is "innovative" to say the least. But, why would you actually want to own one? I mean, surely you can get around the known limitations by just owning 3 or 4 different guitars, or have I missed something? hehe

I'm guessing just before Christmas. Just in time for me not to get it before I have to go away for several days.

Plus, when NI will be releasing GR2, there will be a pressure for IKMM to release AT2 if they don't want it to be "left behind". More time in market is often = More market share.
