Got some Wharfdale Active's on this end.

Clear = Yes
Flat = Yes
Bass = No
Better around = Yes

Just get some speakers man, don't um an aah about 'em too much. In then end you will learn the ins and outs of your speaker and you should AR your mix on differnt speakers anyways.

Just get on with making' music..!!

I also picked up a Alesis SR-16 Drum Machine and a couple of pedals. I figured while I was in the candy shop I might just as well bring home another box of candy.
Good choice! I felt the same way when I got home with my Rokit 5s.

See if you can configure the SR16 midi out to control a VSTi.

The pedals are Roland DP-2's. The salesman gaver me one and then on the way home after eating at Olive Garden (MMMM) I bought the second one for $14.95. We tried the pedal out on the demo and it worked fine.
Just trying to learn about recording, that is if my head is not too hard.

Rolan DP-2's, the saleman tried one out on the demo unit and then gave it to me. I then bought another one after eating dinner at the Olive Garden.....The pedal cost $14.95 at GuitarCenter. :)

The only Difference I noticed with the RP8's was the bass. I couldn't justify the difference in cost and I didn't have it anyway. So the RP5's ended up as my choice. They do a great job for me. I guess you could say that it all depends upon the ears. :) :band:

KRK RP5 is really great for the low-cost monitors. And yes, if you don't hear the bass on RP5 you need to place it correct in your room and work on acoustics. (BTW, you need to do that for all monitors).

Everything is only personal opinion. :wink:
But the reason I do like the RP8s is the bass factor, if you got them at guitar center...remember to hagle the price down. You can do that on most items. You wouldn't have to be a dick, just simply ask...could you do this for me? :hihi:

I can hear the bass alright just positiion and placement for me in my little 10X12 room.

I used a subwoofer with my RP5s and it messed my mix up big time. Now I just use the RP5s, when I take my mix down to other systems to check out the results..I am alwyas pleased with the level of bass I put in.

I said it before.... I love my RP5s!
