If it's in a paid upgrade, it will be because it's a major code overhaul and a fairly substantial modification to the way Tracktion works. Not because they're making some sort of sneaky cash grab.jplanet wrote:Well, now that Mackie knows how badly we all want folder tracks, it'll likely be saved for a paid upgrade! (Sorry for the cynicism)...But I'll be glad if I'm proven wrong, of course...

Absolutely, I believe that, too, and I actually really owe my enjoyment of making music to Tracktion. Cheers to Beno and the crew! I really was in a rather cynical mood when I posted that remark.Lunch Money wrote:If it's in a paid upgrade, it will be because it's a major code overhaul and a fairly substantial modification to the way Tracktion works. Well because Cubase VST, SX, Pro Tools, Logic, DP, FruityLoops, Melodyne, and Cool Edit Pro all had number 33 but NOT number 3. So obviously they're not the same thing. Having a good time stretch doesnt imply or include the ability to drag a loop to a project and have it automatically be locked to time ala Acid.
ok, I've managed to distill my confusion into a single sentence.
having 33 doesn't imply having 3, but having 3 implies having 33 too.
I'll try to make that my last word on the subject in this thread.

Bottom line is, people want both. So its just a technicality.clueless wrote:AD80 wrote:clueless wrote:exactly! To me, ACID style looping implies a certain level of quality as well as functionality. 48 cause what I want is to be able to save a midi clip with instruments and effects to a personal library of midiclips so it is easy to pull into another edit... that does not absolutely necessitate vst's being applied to a clip

28 - Loop preroll
29 - Marker jump (so I can use Tracktion as a live app and not have to buy/learn Live or EnergyXT)

18, 10, 7.
edit: was sleepy yesterday, added nr. 7. Thanx koolkeys!
(In general id love better midi editing: smoother cc draw curves w/vektor curve bending, preset-curve drawing waveforms with changeble grid resolution (saw, sine etc) And fullscreen view of the midi. All of this is like cubase, logic and about every other sequencer. Also drum edit mode, like other sequencers would/could be usable.)

Sleepwalker, number 7 says what you want I believe. As for better MIDI editing, there are a few different options that could qualify. However, it's a very vague request with so much that could be done. So you'd probably have to ask for a specific MIDI feature.
