Hi

I'm considering buying FS soon(ish). I like the sound/price/everything, but being a shite sounddesigner I'd love to have more presets in the "analog" style. love the smoo bank 8)

will there be more of that kind/already is?

thanks

Hi,

that's hard to say... I must honestly admit, I've got a bad track record in providing more presets  . Developing a strategy to encourage people to share their presets is thus one of the major priorities after Zebra2 release. (Tease: There's some incredible stuff in the pipeline, but I'm not sure if and how this will work out, technically)

On another lane, a customer convinced me to consider creating commercial preset banks. Like reFX and CamelAudio who offer signature collections of 100+ presets for 30 bucks. This might be a good alternative because I could actually make deals with renoun patch designers.

However, smoo told me recently he had some more. I hope he sends them over so I can post them!

Cheers,

;) Urs

that'd be great :D

one more Q: fs isn't exactly light on the cpu (i've amd64 2800 and 1gb of ram).

a few voices of almost any preset take around 35% of cpu (according to cubase cpu meter). right?

cheers

Well, it certainly isn't super light - it can't be even though the 4-band EQ per voice is pretty optimized. That's the con of having such a beast in the signal chain. On the pro side, you get some sounds that you can't do with normal osc-filter-amplifier architectures.

However, have you checked the Eco bank? It's a seperate download on filterscape.com with approximately 400 light presets that don't use the EQ and only 1 oscillator. Nevertheless, I think there are some great patches in there for both crazy stuff and bread'n'butter. Hehe, one doesn't always need everything turned on 8)

Cheers,

;) Urs

I don't think it's CPU intensive at all, I've never run out of room with Filterscapes. you should try minimonsta!

Yes, I did some more, and I will do MUCH more for the coming Zebra 2 ... ! I will also do more for Filterscape because I began to use it in almost every production. If my presets in Filterscape use a bit more CPU than others, I guess the reason are the rather long Release times I used.
