DK+ Controlling volume by MIDI CC

I need to fade out DK+ in a track I'm doing using MIDI CC and I'm having problems. I've used Controller 7 and Controller 9 with no success. What is the correct MIDI CC for volume in DK+?

The manual states that Controller 9 is for Volume but is this for Master Volume or volume per pad? If it is for each pad, how do you distinguish the different pad using MIDI CCs?

BTW, I'm using Cubase SE.

here's how you can do it in energyXt

to control the level of PAd 1:

- open the DK+ GUI
- click File >> CC Map >> Add
- select Vce 1 lvl as the parameter
- set the CC number to your ocntroller

Job done

- only the first 16 (of 24) pads can be automated

- or you can control the 3 pairs of outputs by selecting Out1, 2 or 3

i don't think that the levels in the Sequencer can be automated but would love to be proved wrong.

Thanks DarkStar. I was begining to think that no one is using DK+. I haven't come across the File >> CCMap >> Add thing before. Is this energyXT specific?

After re-reading the manual, I think I'm starting to get it...unless someone proves me wrong. From what I'm reading, each pad responds to a channel number. Therefore Pads 1-15 respond to Channel 1-15. So if I send MIDI CC9 messages to channel 2, I should be able to alter the volume of the kick on Pad 2.

But how to control the 3 pairs of Outputs is what I'm really interested in.

They are the parameters called Out1, Out2 and Out3

OK. Now I'm stumped.

I've managed to control the volume of each pad using MIDI CC9. But this meant creating 5 additional midi tracks with controller data sent to 5 different channels (1 for each pad)...a rather messy and time consuming exercise.

Would much prefer to control the 3 separate outputs but I just cannot work out how to assign MIDI CCs to them. There surely must be a way of doing this in Cubase SE.

can't you assign MIDI CCs to VST automation?


or just use VST automation for a fade out,

If all you want is to automate the 3 separate outputs, you could instead automate the Cubase mixer channels which hold those outputs.
