Upgrade Harddrive 200 GB configuration...only in the US?

Hi there at Muse!

i bought the 'naked' Receptor with it's 40GB harddrive.
I am thinkin of using Kontakt with it's large sample libraries...
So I like to upgrade to a 200GB (or more) internal Harddrive.

Now I live in Holland.
Does that mean that i (or the shop i've bought it) have to send it back to the US and after upgrade, you will return it to me, here in Holland?

That means it will cost a lot of money extra, just for the shipment back and forth alone.:(

Do you have extra offices surrounding Holland where they can do the upgrade instead of the US?

Hope to hear from you soon...

Yeah, indeed. The Muse support's absence is pretty strange considering Muse people's presence here in the forums.
I got a good offer from a local shop, and am just about to buy it. But, it's also a "naked" one. I'd like it with more RAM and bigger HD, but Muse support doesn't reply to me.

I would definitely wait investing your money on it if I we're you.
You have to be sure the upgrading procedure is easy to do without to much hassle and extra 'hidden' costs.
(Sorry to admit, Muse, but a 'naked' Receptor is not useful for today's 'sample-libraries'...)
If you decide order one, order a full equipped one; 2GB RAM, 200GB harddrive.
Sad enough those 'full' ones are not available in the music shops themselves :-(
On the other hand, it's understandable Muse don't want to spend extra money in a machine beforehand, if there not 100% sure they will be sold....

I bought my Receptor (40Gig HD, 256MB Ram) in Sweden, upgraded the RAM to 2GB and ordered a 160 Gig HD from Muse. They sent me the HD and I installed it myself, preety easy if you´re used changing drives and stuff in a computer, otherwise maybe someone you know can help you?
The cost for the drive was 200$, installation of Colossus Library (I was lazy) 20$ and shipping (with US mail) 29$. Shipping to Holland is surely not more.

The Muse guys are usually fast to answer questions, it´s strange they haven´t answered... Maybe you should try to call them instead?

Andreas.

Hi Andreas,

but how did you install the Linux OS then?
Did they send the Harddrive including the OS and the standard plugs pre-installed?
I hope Support respond soon...otherwise calling is a faster way indeed.

thanx!

Post

They installed both the standard plugs and the OS on the new drive, I think it has to be done by them.

Andreas.

It's 23 november now...almost 2 weeks waiting!
Maybe my email is not working...still not any email from support.
How do you spell 'support' anyway?

I give up :-(

Post

Dan, can you let us know why these non-responses are happening? Seems weird, what with Muse Research's great rep for service and support...

I'll look into it. Rick is no longer working for Muse, so that may have contributed to the delay.
