OK,

Don't laugh - I'm still using my SBLive card until I save up enough for a Firebox.

So, I used KXProject drivers with same said card in my old machine, T1, Windows 98SE - no problems with midi or audio - even had latency around 5 mS with no glitches for several tracks.

Now, I'm on a new lickety split machine, with 1 GB RAM, WinXP Pro, same exact driver release, and having many midi farts and locks to the point that I can't really enter MIDI via my controller keyboard any longer.

Very very disappointing.

Is there any chance that there is someone out there in KVR world with similar problems and could help me debug this?

Even something like a MIDI stream analyzer plugin would be helpful.

I know there wasn't too big of a response here, thanks maximillian for your response.

Turns out, it's my rather long-in-the-tooth keyboard, Ensoniq VFX-SD that's the bugger. Seems it was getting some un-intended circuit bending as it's been in it's case whilst I built the new PC, hauled out and placed on the ultimate stand (you know, the kind that looks very early '90's Kraftwerk) and proceeded to 'settle' awhile. I ended up getting some keyboard calibration errors on the board - not the fault of the PC/SoundCard/Drivers/T2/XP - but rather the vintage 1989 keyboard I use as a controller.

Still love the keyboard and it's KEY aftertouch - sure wish this would have become a standard controller for midi - but I don't know of a single software synth that responds to it.

So thanks, Max, for responding. This post just to make sure folks know it wasn't T2.
