more like 40 times in a good case scenario if i understand your question correctly.

d/ling with 150kb/s here. :)

excellent work! Looking forward to employing these a lot. Although I never thought much of the L480 (hardware) in the first place. I think it sounds a bit dated already, grainy at worst (no matter how industry standard it is). Nevertheless it still has uses like anything with unique sound.

I'd like some recording related specs though. What was the equipment used to record these? AD/DA? Bitrates? or did you do the whole thing digitally? What impulse(s) did you use for the click?

People often forget to specify these even though they are just as important on impulses as they are on any normal recorded source.

especially bad AD/DA converters (jitter errors) can influence the sound almost too much. (which is also why about 70% of noisevault sucks.)
Thanks! Yeah, I have the same feeling about most other free impulses - that's why I've made mine.

The impulses have been recorded with a Terratec EWX24/96 soundcard (which I am the biggest fan of - although it's not very widely known).
The connection was analogue at +4dbU, using 16seconds sweeps in 24bit created by voxengo deconvolver.
Recording was done in CubaseSX and 24bit in a timing-true manner. The recorded files have not been truncated or tampered with in any way and were just deconvolved using voxengo deconvolver again.
Impulse playback and recording have been performed at 44.1kHz (because that's the sampling rate I'm working at. 480L internally is 48kHz at 20bit IIRC).

I'm slightly surprised you don't like the 480L's sound that much. The rooms and halls are still one of the best I know, at least when it comes to the "blending-in-the-mix"-factor (although I'm more into my UAD Plate140 right now).

Thanks for the info. :)

It's not that I don't like L480. I just prefer the more recent lexicon "wash" compared to the old L480 style "ultragrain" sound. PCM91 and MPX1 are a good example of the "wash", and I'm sure you know what ultragrain means since you use L480 lots.

I consider the latest TC system6000 algos the ultimate. There's pretty much just "solid" ambience there.

Big thanks Bleebsen - these are really good! Mainly went through the "real" spaces (been collecting IRs for post production), applying to footsteps and dialogue, and there's a LOT of useful stuff there. Anyone working on soundtracks should grab these. :)

Does it make my computer part of some type of network used when people download bit torrent files? Sorry, I am a little paranoid. I need to research this a little.

yes, it does, but this network is STRICTLY confined to this single file you will be downloading. You will not be taking part in any illegal activities whatsoever.

(bittorrent actually was designed for legal applications but it works so good that it was quickly adopted by "the others")

It does, but only when the torrent software is on. Get Azureus. It's perfectly safe, not a resource hog, and possibly easiest to use.

Post

Azureus needs a Java Machine installed though (and thus IS acutally the most resource hungry bittorrent client out there).

Get bitcomet -> www.bitcomet.com ... small download, spyware-free, complete and easy removal, does not have any dependencies (like the JavaVM).

So, when I am done, can I just turn it "off" so it will not do anything on my computer or should I uninstall it?
