I don't know about you guys but I just love Arethra Franklin, Dusty Springfield and everyone who qualifies in that lot
And I think at least Beyonce and Alicia Keys do. Great singers, songwriters, producers. I think when Beyonce sheds some of that teenpop skin we'll see something extraordinary.
Sure, they're not *yet* quite at the level of mrs. franklin, but thinking in bigger sweeps, in 10 years maybe they will be.
Just because they're not recorded on tape and in motown studios 30 years a go doesn't mean they're not at least equal.

So true. So much of what peopel do is diss what is going on at the time in search of better days in the past but then they realise later on that what they dissed was actually pretty good.

I forgot what a great voice Dylan hadAndrew Vernon wrote:Dude... the Crazy Frog track got to number one here in the UK.... are you seriously suggesting the charts are a good reflection of ones ability as an artist?
Bob Dylan really is one of the great song writers, but of course I say that because I like his songs. If I didn't like his songs, then I would hardly consider him a great song writer would I?
I mean sure.. there are what everyone else considers great.. but I'm more about what I consider great.

I admit I didn't read the first three pages of this thread so if this has been said, I apologize.
Going back to the original topic - how can anyone be surprised they broke up? We all know Beyonce, but who can honestly say they know the names of the other two in the group? Case closed.
They might as well have been called Beyonce and the Pips.

No. It's actually shite that you just get desensitized to from overexposure, and then you remember bonking someone to "crazy right now" and you misinterpret your memory. Like ABBA. Pure shite, but I still have a soft spot for them.Lady J wrote:Kingston wrote: Just because they're not recorded on tape and in motown studios 30 years a go doesn't mean they're not at least equal.

I also remember in the old destiny's child video clips Beyonce was shown on camera the most and the others were kind of portrayed as just 'extras'.I admit I didn't read the first three pages of this thread so if this has been said, I apologize.

I think many people know Kelly and Michelle but the thing is Beyoncé had more the 'hollywood' look and as a result did more acting and things besides music.flugel45 wrote:I admit I didn't read the first three pages of this thread so if this has been said, I apologize.

She is a brand. in the last few years of the last century every otherartist was doing a collaboration with her
the other two are still trying to catch up to where she was in 1999.

Its only because she is the most stunning and 'diva-ish' of the three. Probably has a huge ego to boot which goes along way in show business id say.
