Destiny's Child Breakup

I really quite liked early Destiny's Child. I tend to be fairly open to pop anyway, but at the beginning I think they had something (for me anyway).

I also liked some of Beyoncé's stuff. I thought there was quite a bit of promise in her first album and would like to see her going a bit further.

Was pretty unimpressed with later Destiny Child stuff however. I'm not really sorry to see them go. I admit I haven't heard all their new stuff, but the stuff that I have heard has left me pretty bored and a little irritated.

All just personal opinion as these things invariably are - but I would like to remember DC for Bills Bills Bills, Independent Woman, Bootilicious etc... and not for some of their later works.

Sugarbabes piss me off because they put out one song that I really like and then I make the mistake of buying their album on impulse finding that I hate every other bloody song on the album. I think I'll wait for a greatest hits or something before I get involved in them again.

So true. So much of what peopel do is diss what is going on at the time in search of better days in the past but then they realise later on that what they dissed was actually pretty good.

No. It's actually shite that you just get desensitized to from overexposure, and then you remember bonking someone to "crazy right now" and you misinterpret your memory. Like ABBA. Pure shite, but I still have a soft spot for them.

I don't have MTV, and I don't watch videos if I can avoid it. But even active avoidance isn't enough to escape the slimy tentacles of corporate entertainment (otherwise we would have a different discussion here: "DC breaking up" "who?").

Towards the end I think she did write all their tunes. But early on it was Michelle and Beyoncé and of course some outside writers. I don't know if Kelly penned anything. Which may explain why she has not been as successful. As for hotness they're all hot in different ways.

Well even corporate entertainment can be, well, entertaining and sometimes enlightening.

I can think of so many pop songs straight from hell that have featured absolutely brilliant mona-lisa-class mixes and engineering/production.

Heck, I even have a britney song as a reference sometimes.

Now we're still arranging vocals for this but as it is a disco track we shut up or go into the background on it a bit to give the instrumentation some room to breath.

Yes it has a verse/chorus structure but its a little more complex than typical RnB or Disco...

Yeah the idea was to do like 80s electro-disco on that track but to REALLY make it pop, a catchy memorable guitar riff ala Prince or Slash..
