don't know to others, but to me sp is indeed "jazz minded" inside

Amon Tobin *sounds* more jazz for the sample he uses
though

Try relaxing with Smojphase EP, or with Come to Daddy or with Ventolin playing on the background. I don't find druqs relaxing, or I care Because You Do.
Do you?
sometimes depends on the volume I listen too,

admittely it was a bit of an exageration,
but I can say that my average perception of
AT vs sp is that AT is more relaxing
and sp more exciting

hmmm yeah i can relax to most things by aphex or indeed squarepusher, but i think it does depend on a volume setting, come to daddy at just above hearing level for instance is lovely and soothing :D
altho on headphones at 11 it makes me want to murder everyone on the bus :D

Well, I was there on the fateful night too and it was pretty good, with some great moments, not as good as I was hoping for, but my expectations were pretty high.
He had a drummer and saxophonist to play alongside his bass prestidigitation and electronics wizardry which was cool, although the electronics took a back seat and it turned into a free jazz jam for a while before going back into more electronica-oriented territory.
I'm a huge fan of his Burning'n'Tree/Hard Normal Daddy-style fusionish hyperjazz or the pop pastiche of Go Plastic and not so much the freakout IDM stuff, though I absolutely LOVE the single Do You Know Squarepusher - insane beat programming and arrangement. Later in the set it veered towards manic four to the floor beats and kitschy 909 breaks, ending with a glitchy noise extravaganza finale.

I haven't got Ultravisitor yet so I didn't know exactly what to expect but from what I've heard of the album his live performances are very different from a lot of his recorded work (which is a great thing).

Anyway, a shame Dave didn't see the whole enchilada (he wandered off a few tracks in to the set), but it was great fun, and I hugely enjoyed the excursions into fusionish drum'n'bass and old skool rave flavoured jungle :D
Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.
