The UAD-1 stuff is quite nice, but more often then not, I find the "warmth" and "vintage" flavours quite annoying and....it can really mud up a mix....
So, I sold my UAD-1 card.
The TC MD3 package is the best software compressor \ limiter I have used. I actually prefer the MD 3 brickwall limiter over my Tube Tech limiter...
the Sony compressor is quite flash as well.
I am quite exited to hear the new URS compressors tho.....looks the part on paper at least...

<Rapture> Tsk, it's [new processors] as bad as penis comparisons, really.
<rejs> but penises don't double in performance every 18 months...

Just started using Voxengo Marquis last week and really like the character of this one. Any of the compressors from Voxengo and Kjaerhus are great. Dont forget Buzzcomp, especially the multiband compressors. All of these mentioned are very affordable and sound great.
