BR: export midi broken

ive tried all the options when exporting a midi clip and no matter what, it renders it, then spits out nothing. no exported clip. been fiddleing with this for days thinking of all possible solutions but none have worked so far. Im on XPif that helps any, newest version of T2.

Do you have a vsti on the track you're trying to export? I don't think Tracktion will render midi if you do. You may already know this, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case you don't.

Yeah, the midi needs to be going somewhere, IIRC. It may work also to set the track to output to a midi device before rendering.

yeah, i ve tried disabling the vst, checking the "pass midi thru plugins " option and tried to set it to a midi ouput and so far nothing. this was definately workin on the last release.

I don't think midi export has ever worked propperly.
There are often wrong notes.

ihave a whole folder full of drum loops i programmed, exported to midi, that the last version of traktion spit out. i havent tried them in programs except live 5 and T2 but the were workin in both of these. now with the new release, i cant even render them.

can Beno or anyone lese confirm this?!?

I can confirm it does this on my machine too. I tried to export a midi clip only last night so I could use it in another application.

Tracktion appears to be doing something when rendering. The usual render bar comes up and proceeds slowly to the end. But there is no output file generated.

In the end I just used the rendered audio instead. But it is indeed very weird.

You need to route the MIDI to a MIDI output, and disable any master section plugs..

this is the kay factor here!!

i know midi export is working, but if you dump somthing in the master output it will cock block your midi export!


i seem to rember it being this way before aswell?

if you have a midi file on a empty track in a empty edit (IE; no vst's in the edit) & the track with the midi data in it being sent straight to a midi out, dose it work?

just for anyone interested, i was having this problem, too, but disabling the effects in the master output solved it. only wish i'd known before i exported a bunch of stuff to midi, because now i need to get something back! oh, well.

Me, too. I was getting hella frustrated, but for me clearing the Master Bus solved it, too.
