Don't get off now. I never even mentioned reason or any kind of comparison to anythingGypsyJazz wrote:Yes!Chase wrote:With FL Studio you can view a list of the CC's right in the browser to the side. I've never come across a better system of doing so.
but as we all know,
Fl Studio is much more
advanced than Reason !
Eureka! Host idea!

some kind of reversed reversed sarcasm or something?
i absolutely like the way reason shows a knob is being automated by simply just outlining the knob with a green box. that looks great, & also is highly functional.

Seriously though, why doesnt propellerheads give Reason VST compatability? The guy who made mealstrom (and microtonic, FYI) said because it would risk stability, but there are a dozen great hosts that use VST and are very stable...
I know many who absolutely love the reason interface but have to dish out more money for a host to use VST's, and even then they are using the awkward rewire...
If they gave reason another unit that is simply a DX/VST/AU mapper with all the CC's to be easily accessed and linked to like int he thread starter's idea, it would put reason right up there with all the top hosts, methinks.
If propz want to sell a quality, enclosed host they should include more than twice what they have now, imo...

I agree that in the next update reason could do with another instrument or two.
Personally i'd love to see a microtonic like drum machine & maybe an fm synth.
I like it as it is, but that would be icing on the cake for me.

Hi,Sleepwalker wrote:I just got a splendid thought!
Its a host like reason, but with vst. Load your vsts in the rack. Why is this so cool? Because you can flip the rack around, and patch CCs like crazy! (particularly great with the matrix from reason) Now I for one dont like the sound of reason, filters is shit, etc. But I loved the modular aspect of it, and did lots of creative things with it, before I sold it. Emagine patching up your faforite vsts!
Just a thought!
Contact Jo (http://www.mutools.com). He's making a new host.
Perhaps he could implements.

I can do realy creative stuf with it FAST, thats why. Things it will be a hell to set up in any other host! And the whole feel of having everything saved in one project. Presets etc. So everything is hidden in just one program icon... or something..GypsyJazz wrote:Maybe I'm the odd one out here but I've never liked
the patch cord thingy in Reason.
I just don't get why they would want to emulate an
outdated, antiquated hardware paradigm in software?
The few times I've used Reason I've always turned it off.
Useless eyecandy IMHO.
