Hi there,

Can somebody explain to me the need for the early reflections pre-delay? In what applications would it be useful? How does it work? Can it be set to BPM?

I think the GUI looks phenomenal but also a bit intimidating for A total newbie such as myself.
Also, I'd like to know if there is a manual or tutorial that I can download before trying this beast.

Thanks

The pre-delay in the early reflections row is actually a pre-delay of the DRY signal. Used with the envelope for the reverb (click on the envelope enable button), you can do cool things like reverse reverbs and the like- where the reverb will fade into the dry sound instead of vice versa as normal.

nice reverb

I agree with the positive comments. This is a top contender for me along with Timeworks reverb for another algo reverb to go with Princeton 2016.

Thanks very much for the 30 day demo, since that gives a lot of time to delve into it without noise distractions.

I also think some of the other version 5 plugs are pretty good. I think WaveArts is coming along with some very noticeable improvements!

The manual (which is part of the demo installer) goes into detail about how the reverb works, and feel free to hop on over to our forum at http://wavearts.com/phpBB2/ we have a section for asking general questions about plug-in use there. We also plan to update our Quicktime video demos with the new v5 plug-ins.

I cannot say often enough:

I would prefer a ER Pre-delay instead of the dry pre-delay...

In large halls and arenas you hear the earlyreflections and dry signal first and the tail is slapping with a long pre-delay.

With Masterverb I cannot model this scenario...as the pre-delay moves both the ERs and the LRs at the same time...

Moving the dry signal with pre-delay makes no sense for simulating real environments

Question - if I try the demo does it uninstall easily for I may not be interested in buying right now? I hate having to go into the registry to clean ou uninstalls.

I tried the version 4 and almost bought it when it was on sale once for $99. I liked the sound and ease of use.

At $174 it is a bit high for me right now but if I really like the demo....who knows.

God bless

Yes the PC version allows uninstall via Add/Remove Programs.

this is what I meant with large hall, where the late reverb tail is coming with pre-delay while the early reflections are coming earlier...

here is an example from a professional recording:
http://home.arcor.de/rd50info_site/reve ... reverb.wma

excellent room impression...

Masterverb has a nice character, but these extra features would make it more professional for Post production and more flexible for music...

It would be also very nice if there would be more programs with even more dense reverb tails.

cheers

I second this. I would really like to have an ER pre delay instead of dry. I really like this reverb, I've been able to get sounds from it that I've been looking for for a long time. For the first time, I'm as happy with a software reverb as with hardware. I really like this reverb and I think just adding the ability to pre dealy the ER's would really put it over the top!
Also, being able to mute the algorithms would be nice so I could work on one then the other. I know I could turn the balance knob, and that's what I do, but a quick mute button would be nice.
Also, also, To be able to interchange the algorithms between early and late would be nice.
Thanks for listening!![/i]

nice reverb and good interface (double-click sets default, right-click and drag fine adjustment etc.).
one small feature request: right-clicking the ER type button should select the previous model.

Yes Squish, the overall reverb quality of the Masterverb is the best in VST area and it also can compete with higher class hardware reverb units.

With Masterverb I also get the soundquality I was searching for a long time....It makes every sound big if you want, but it stays subtile...

They just have to tune up a little bit the flexibility of this tool to make it totally professional...

Pre-delay for early reflection would be the easiest to implement.

Very fine would be a inverse reverb shape for late and early reflection for spacious special FX...

cheers for that nice reverb.

VST is now getting from toys to professional tools thanks to wavearts...

Their Masterverb seems to be a killer, the longer I play with it the more and more I like it. No shattering and dense fine sound...

The engineers did a nice job. Masterverb 4 wasn`t that good.

Excactly, big while being subtle. I have to be honest, I didn't like it at first, but I spent just a little time with it and I'm getting the sounds that I really like. Sounds that I've not heard anywhere outside of a PCM Lexicon.
I also have to say that Wave arts seem like a company that cares about their costumers and Rob's interaction has been first class.
I was waiting for the Princeton, But I think I'm going with this instead.

Damn C/R - totally out of the question. I'm guessing that this serial number is unique to the particular PC hardware setup? So if you change anything, or upgrade to a new PC, you lose the use of this product? What is the point of buying software that you can't use long term? And what is the point in discouraging sales of your software? Right now, hackers are responding to the "challenge" part of this C/R scheme, so there is a small ray of hope that cracked versions might be avaialable as a backup for paying customers ...

It's always the same ... honest customers who just want to buy software get pissed on, while the criminals do what criminals will do anyway. I don't get it.

So instead of buying a dozen software verbs that will evaporate next time I upgrade my PC (fairly soon as it happens), I think I should be looking at hardware again.

Thankfully, there are some vendors who make excellent reverb and treat their customers fairly. www.artsacoustic.com
