Is it similar in anyway to the Boss distortion pedal? Looking at the schematics - gain, bass, treble, contour? and volume. The circuit appears to be quite straight forward. The tone controls are after the distortion? Nice GUI but the original marshal pedal as a GUI might be better?

well it was just an idea to include this kind of tone control into this amp... if we could make an exact modell of the shredmaster (which would be a lot of work - at least I guess) a shredmaster-like GUI would be cool.... yupRangtangtang wrote:Is it similar in anyway to the Boss distortion pedal? THought I might wade in here...
ta for finding a better schematic Alex
And ta aciddose for your disassembly, from what had been described to me, it was kinda what I was expecting.
My vision is that is effect form part of the basis of the crunch channel of the amp; the clean will have other processing.
There will be a springline as well. The final GUI may not be that large, in true BBA style, we will probably have a few pertinent controls on the front, with a number of hidden controls to get different timbres. Part of the sound engine will be borrowed from Chorrosive, which has a single UI dial, but hidden controls to get the different effects.
My day job is hyper busy at the mo, so I won't have the most time ever to move it along, but I'll post bits as I have them to keep you all interested

Very nice GUI. What guts? Will this be the much-anticipated Betabugs Gnarshall?

It's a hell of a lot smaller than Guitar Rig, Amplitube 2 and Reason, isn't it?wakax wrote:its cool but dont you thing the interfaces of your plugs are way too big and way too colorfull to be usable ?

I think others had done some work on Gnarrshall, but this won't be that.Newbie Brad wrote:Very nice GUI. What guts? Will this be the much-anticipated Betabugs Gnarshall?
Thing is with BB we get more ideas than we can sheik a schick at, and some may takes ages before they actually materialise
Well remembered tho'. This will won't model explicitly any other amp, tho' it will borrow concepts..

I little more orange and pictures of glowing tubes, please. and make them flash.
don't forget to add the screws and a vintage wood planel version would be nice.
(well actually these images look really nice themselves, but the usability as a plugin will be so and so.)

Now if only one developer did it PERFECT you wouldn't see these threads pop up anymore.aciddose wrote:very simple to implement, basically five filters and a stupid atan with either oversampling on it or another five filters and five atans.
All we've seen this far has been 2-4x oversampled steaming piles of crap, and they've been digital sounding steaming piles of crap at that.
(well some of them have been ok-ish, but only that)
