IKM really just announced AT2 because they were scared everyone would go and get GR2 once it came out. And you know what, suckers? It's worked. There seems to be people out there who are holding off on GR2 until they can compare with AT2. But it's pretty slimy of IKM to announce software almost a year before it is even ready for release. Heck, NI might as well announce GR4 now so that people will not buy AT2 until they can compare with GR4. What a joke.
I own (and like) AT1, but this is really giving me a bad taste in the mouth (no jokes about plastic boobs, please...).

IKM's stupid marketing-blahs are clearly just saying, that they still aren't able to top GR1 in any ways!Len wrote:IKM really just announced AT2 because they were scared everyone would go and get GR2 once it came out.
if AT2 is available sometime (maybe never), there will be other very interesting ampsim next to the new GR2. so IKM has allready missed the train.
I'm waiting for Midiworks amp (comes out in three weeks, right!??). this one could be a cool addition to the big new NI Guitar Rig2. hopefully Midiworks amp has not more than two or three amp-combinations, because this could be enough for the most.

Midiworks' amp, if I'm not mistaken, will NOT have 3 different combinations! It's one amp! The idea wasn't to make it capable of emulating a bunch (or even 3) of different amps, but rather to provide one very versatile and responsive amp.
I dunno, I could be wrong... but I wouldn't expect to see 3 different amps, but rather just an amp like any other real world amp with clean and distortion channels.
Which would be a breath of fresh air, if the amp itself has a good sound and is versatile!

.. andrew, i´m a big fan and longtime user of Amplitube. i like it cause i dig the developers sense for sound. (thats the reason why i really like GuitarRig 2, but i bet Amplitube 2 will top it, due to the character. though, thats all a matter of taste.)Andrew Vernon wrote:No one forced anyone to wait.
but: the marketing is really really bad - period. (and its not often that i write "period" .. )
it´s almost a year now, and we didnt even hear a single sound of it.
this is the reason why i´m acting in such an ironic and cynical way in this thread.
they need to realize that it shouldnt be done like that, and that us users are annoyed by such "strategies".
even if this "strategy" isnt really wanted by IK themselves .. its pissing us off.

yup there's no sound coming out at the moment... on the other hand the CPU load is VERRRRY lowSquids wrote:I hear the Betabugs has bugs though.![]()
Just kidding.
thanks dude,A3ntar wrote:multree: What a nice GUI!! You made that yourself?! I would love to spin those knobs man. Do you seriously plan on making a plugin out of these?
yup made it myself using only Photoshop and three days of time
and of course we're planing to make a plug out of it... duncan has a busy time at work though and so it could take some time... (maybe it could take us even longer if IK would have a better marketing strategy - and I don't mean the same strategy Putte is talking about - it's more like: "hey the bugs are developing a nice looking amp, too lets give them Amplitube2 for free so they won't see the need anymore"
thanks DaveSquids wrote:Oh by the way, Mul, the stuff is looking good! Well done.
yup you're right... although I don't really mind a little screwd perspective adds to the comicness....Sascha Franck wrote:Mully: Nice UI but the angles of the knobs don't match the 3d perspective.
but I did two other versions (one with the knobs with a more upfront look, and one with the amp's perspective kinda like the knobs) remember Photoshop is just a 2D application
I will post them in a second, for you to choose
cheers,
mully
P.S. Musikstore just can't deliver the update from LE to Amplitube 1 I ordered a month ago
