Oh, it is! RDK 2.0 is particularly amazing, lets you mix the drum kit mics however you want. I didn't see 1.0 but am very impressed wtih 2.0.
(the ReDrum kit's only eight instruments)
Ten, actually. But that's still smallish. RDK 2.0 uses multiple NN-XT sample players (LOTS of layers! Lots of alts too) and effects wrapped in combinators -- very easy to use, pretty easy to tweak too.

RDK 2.0 also contains the old versions for backward compatibility, and I think there are also some Redrum kits using the new samples; not sure about that.

Yes, many of'em.
RDK2 is my main use of Reason these days.
Nothing I've seen compares.

My memory's going to hell (and I was too lazy to open Reason)
I stand corrected this time *genuflecting towards the east*

ew - do you find yourself still using Reason even with Absynth and Reaktor on board? I've never really seriously considered Reason until I started messing around with it over the weekend and I'm starting to understand its appeal a little more.

I'm curious about that too because im thinking of buying reaktor 5 as well. I use Reason for everything fundamental in my music then it all gets arranged and mixed in Live 5. I want an VST that can give me as much variety as Reason does. I was thinking either go the modular route with Reaktor or pick up Spectrasonics Trilogy for a comprehensive Bass instrument. Any suggestions?

Now I know my memory's going to hell... I could swear I answered this

I still use Reason- it's a great scratchpad for getting ideas down quickly. Malstrom's a great synth, and I use a lot of combis exploiting it ReWired into Sonar or Live. I use Redrum to program the scratch drum track for most of my stuff- I usually then export the MIDI track from Reason and bring it into Sonar for more work. I used NN-XT as my main sampler until this month, when I got Komplete (and hence Kontakt). I still use it sometimes just because I'm more used to working with it.
