Hi All,
I started to work on EVE 2,
first dilemma is: 3 band EQ or Multimode filter LP HP ?,
not both, since I want to keep EVE very simpler,
I'm almost tempted to make it even simple than EVE 1,
anyway it doesn't seem usefull to have both filter and eq on each osc
the FM is pretty much done,
the multieffects section is the one that needs much work

Please, no more pitch shifting for Mono/Legato Mode. This is killing my Multi-Samples with Vibrato!!!

I agree. Or if thats just not possible, multimode filter on each OSC and a master EQ on the output would be second-best.aMUSEd wrote:Needs both imo

I see what you mean, anyway EVE has it's own LFO for vibrato, so it's not designed to preserve sampled vibrato in mono mode,PhilG wrote:Please, no more pitch shifting for Mono/Legato Mode. This is killing my Multi-Samples with Vibrato!!!
for Mono/Legato playing with great vibrato I would suggest EVE ONE,
about that I'm planning to include EVE ONE for free with EVE 2

Just gave the beta a quick test. Loaded in Energy XT with Eve 1.8.29 loaded for comparison.
Loading the same patch in each, I attempted to tweak the beta FM oscillator to get close to the original sound. I was going on the assumption that this was the only area of change between the two and the other parameters would be the same?
Over all I found the beta to have a very synthy dissonance opposed to the original that I would describe as sounding more natural and lush.
Please advise if I've missed something. Hope this helps.

i noticed the same thing as you: it is difficult if not impossible to get the fuller sound of EVE 1.8 using the same patch.
are there other changes to account for this difference liqih?
on the other hand, FM definitely gives EVE another dimension. i guess i was just expecting that it would still do the old stuff too.
btw: also using stand-alone eXT with no crash...

hello,
thanks for trying,
with FM A, B and C knobs at zero = all left,
the sound must be the same as EVE 1.8
but a dissonance in osc C was a bug,
please download again beta 1a
http://www.dashsignature.com/download/EVE_2_beta_1a.zip
and also I worked on LFO ranges, so maybe you got less vibrato in the older patches

i'm still getting noticeable differences. FM A, B, C all set to zero.liqih wrote:hello,

first, there is a big difference in levels on all OSCs using the same patch (first patch, EP Stereo CP70 in 1.8 bank).
you can hear it and see it in the level meters.
second, there is a little whispy noise (not quite a click) on key presses (or releases, i'm not sure) that is obvious on fast playing. this did not occur on 1.8.
that's it for now.
HTH.
