Well, you won't be able to load very big soundfonts onto the SBLive!... No disk streaming. I'm sure you'll enjoy Sonar more than three new tyres, anywayned911 wrote:...and we are in SF heaven.

Update: As previously mentioned I ordered parts for a new PC which should arrive tomorrow. I also bit the bullet and upgraded to Sonar5 Studio.
So the question is do I even need to install the SBLive?
Board is GA-K8N51GMF-9 which I'll load with 1.5GB of memory and 2 80GB drives (1 OS/Apps, 1 audio only). CPU is a AMD Venice 3200+.
So the question is do I even need to install the SBLive?

(a) Like lawapa says - not for SF2 playback. (b) What sound card are you getting? Does it support low latency playback?ned911 wrote:So the question is do I even need to install the SBLive?

Sound card in this system will be a Delta66 plus the onboard sound. The SBLive does have digital out which I can use to create audio tracks from midi if needed (SBLive digital out to Delta66 digital in).

You should be fine with the Delta66 and sfz, then.

With the SFZ player on board a bounce to track is audio that will play through your delta. There would be no advantage to recording the digital out through that delta card. The bounce is digital and never leaves the comp. So with that SFZ onboard you are as digital as you want/need with no hookup. One thing to keep in mind, To set that sfz to render at it's highest level (not volume but that helps as well) As a bounce to track is not real time and can handel the cpu load of anything you throw at it.ned911 wrote:Sound card in this system will be a Delta66 plus the onboard sound.
