Yes it was, a VERY bad move. I can't quite understand why they announced it when they did (January 2005?). Look at Native Instruments, now they did it the right way. What's up with IK Multimedia? Did the marketing director sleep through Marketing 101?cptgone wrote:I think the premature announcement of AT2 was a very bad move.

"Hey, sure, XYZ is great, but please don't forget that our ZYX will be even greater! It's gonna be availabe SOON!".
Understandable from a company's point of view, just annoying once you're a bit more experienced.

That's so right on- and it's what people keep forgettingHink wrote:I reckon who is plugged into the POD has more influence on the sound that comes out, then the accuracy of the models in POD..in other words if you can't get a good sound out of a POD or even just a Sansamp then none of these sims will save the day for you...it's time to go back to guitar tone 101...
The tone's in your hands first and foremost- the other stuff's just the icing on the cake

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Agreed... their hype machine has definitely backfired!cptgone wrote:Things looks bad for AT2: many Komplete owners will upgrade and get GR2. Others will go for the line6 TonePort. I think the premature announcement of AT2 was a very bad move. Some people may wait for it still, but many are fed up with the long, long wait.
Maybe they heard Guitar Rig 2 & are having to go back to the drawing board?
Either way - they've dropped the ball bigtime.
If & when it does finally get released it's gonna have to be something pretty bloody special to get guitarists to fork out again after probably having bought Guitar Rig 2 or the Toneport whatever in the meantime!

.. i now have GuitarRig 2.
i like it a lot, especially for its modularity. and i am very surprised about the bass presets ..
.. very nice me thinks, they will be used heavily. (together with my manley langevin preamp of course).
GR2 is a very effective plugin to me (not only for guitar and bass), and it sounds good as well.
though, it wont stop my curiosity for the AT2-ghost.
but who knows, maybe i end up just being happy with GR2 ..

.. nah, not like this.xRAVENx wrote:What, 'convert to GTR2 now, repent later'?putte wrote:.. i now have GuitarRig 2.
i am a longtime AT1 user, and am waiting for AT2. but i tested Guitar Rig 2, and like what i hear. and as AT2 is still a ghost i just now have GR2.
i do think i´ll end up with both, and thats nothing bad for sure ..
the thing i expect from AT2 is character, soundwise.
cause that made it my fave virtual guitaramp in the first place ..
for now, i´m happy using GR2.

Hi, How good is GR2 in hi gain sounds? It's the same sound like in GR1? GR1 it's not for me for that. Amplitube is far very better.

since we're slightly off-topic anyway... I'd like to contribute this.... so Putte might end up using three guitarsuites

obviously still a lot to be done but it's gonna kick some behind... and will be way cheaper... no wait more cost effective
so anybody up to build the foot switch... or well maybe we just provide some special biker boots useful to hit just one note while stepping on a midikeyboard which is obviously lying on the floor.... although it might be a cool stageperformance if the keyboard is still in its stand

well since we now have 10 and a half month to develop it.. (and we already have lots of the code for the stompboxes) I'm sure it'll be awesome...
