Evening folks. I can’t believe I’m about to start a thread about an Access Synth, but here goes...

I’m in the market for a synth-weighted controller. With the exception of a soon-to-go Microkorg [keys too small, prefer programming Albino] and my Pro-88, I’m all software. [All-time gear lust = Nord Lead 3. I need at least 61 keys however, so it’s out.]

The *Access synth* is starting to look very attractive – I hear it’s well made, I see plenty of features and knobs, and I see easy additional DSP power which never uses up valuable CPU. It’s also [OS update pending] going to be a configurable VSTi controller with a mic-in audio interface. It sounds excellent – but… time for the acid test..

I’m wondering if any of you are using the new *Access-TI* [that should stop the usual tarnce/flamez/hard-vs-soft/does-it-sound-like-a-v…… forum searchers] with Tracktion 2, and how are you finding it?

Integrate easy? Or does it feel like everything's designed for Cubase/Logic?
Latency issues?
How does external audio in sound?
Can you update the OS easily from T2?
Arpeggiator timing issues?
Anyone using it alongside a Delta44 or similar PCI card? – Compatibility issues?

I’m off to test one next week, and so I’ll weigh up the sound for myself – but features-wise, is it a useful addition to a Tracktion based DAW studio or not? Or is it still too hassle-prone to be a good purchase?

No-one out there using a TI desktop/polar/61key with tracktion as their host? Really?

Would I get more replies if I put the word Virus in the title?? :)

Well, an update.

Last week I played on a Ti Polar. Wow. Amazing sound, nice keys, hefty weight, well built, and the promise of DAW integration.

The sound is incredible. The wavetable stuff is really nice, and the control surface really encourages hands-on tweaking.

I looked into a Powercore version, but when you add card to synth you might as well have the dedicated controller for those dual DSP's!

I'm sold on it, and I'm off to pick up the Keyboard version tomorrow.

I'll then let you all know how the Ti sits with Tracktion. I can't believe that I'm the only one with this combination.

Anyone else?

Any T2 and Ti teething troubles?
