Again my Muse let me down. It was running for 6 ours.
I went away for a second and it was fallen out. I startet it up again, but nothing on the lcd screen.
Startet it up with holding down the multi button.
Then i got the workscreen, but with no faders and couldn't make contact with my laptop. Now, it doesn't startup. I get messages like retry, recover mode. So what to do? The fixers are working. But when i press control disk, it falls out again. By starting up, i see: disk......disabled. After this i tried it with an attached pc keyboard and mouse. But the startup screen is so fast(tap, cntrl + F, etc).
I'm not a linux person. So please.......HELP!!!

I'm not sure what you mean by 'fixers' but it sounds like a problem I experienced with my first receptor. Basically, the unit boots to a certain point then shuts off now?

Post

Yes, i think that is the problem. I see the start up screen. Then the info about usb's etc. and then i my screen (from the atached monitor) goes black, with a white cross in the middle.

I understand that the lcd blinking on and off is part of a power test on booting but crashing after the power test seems to be a hardware issue. This was the problem with my first receptor. I didn't find out the actual root cause after the unit was sent back but I think the issue had been narrowed down to either a faulty CPU or possibly a power supply issue. You haven't touched your bios, etc. have you? You should email Muse support directly if you haven't done so already. They were pretty responsive when I reported my problem.

I will contact them. I know they have a good support.Thanx for helping.

No probs. Good luck.

You should open a support ticket at plugorama.com. This is easier to deal with that way.

If I understand correctly you do get to recovery mode on your front panel. What happens if you choose Reset and restart? Have you tried that?

When in recovery mode if you turn the top knob you get to "Receptor Notworking" and "Receptor IP Address" You should be able to get the networking going and to mount the Receptor hard drive on your computer. When you get the Receptor hard drive to show on your computer, go to the Reports folder and email the system log file to support at museresearch.com.

When i choose Reset and restart, i get stuck i the same thing. And i can't get the network going, grrrrrr. I get a dchp(?, i'm not behind it now) failor. What is the best thing. Let it find an ip adress automaticly, or crossover mode?

The first thing to do is to make sure the date is set correctly in the BIOS. You need to have a monitor and a keyboard connected to Receptor. Right after you turn the power on you will see a screen very briefly that says at the bottom "Press Delete to enter Setup" You have to hit the delete key before it goes to the next screen and continues booting.

When you are in the BIOS setut you will see at the top something like "Phoenix awardBIOS setup utility" There are two types of motherboards for Receptor. One of them shows the date on the first screen, the other starts with "Standard CMOS Features" selected. For the second one press Enter and the first thing you should see is the date. In any case it is fairly easy to figure out how to navigate and find the date.

If the date is not correct, set it to the current date. Use the arrow keys to navigate, use the "+" and "-" keys to change the month, date, or year.

Save and exit. That should be the "F10" key.

If this does not solve your problem, I suggest you open a support ticket on plugorama. It will be easier to solve it that way.
