Hello!

What has happened:
Today I recognized that all files of a certain project have been loose in a directory and not in a folder.
So, to keep my Songs-Directory clear I created a folder and moved the files in it.

But when I tried to open the Project the edit was totally empty!! I faced a new clear project. I closed Tracktion (of course without saving) and moved them back into my untidy Songs-diretctory, but the situation didn't change - Ive brought a whole week into that project and everything that's left are some loose guitar records... all the midis and the arrangements the plugins everytghing's away...

Is there ANY way I can bring it back? I mean I actually did not delete or edit anything I just moved files around`?

Pleeeease help me :( :(

Put the files back into the folder.

On the project page look for "open a project".

Navigate to the folder that you put the files into and open it.

That should do it.

Well... unfortunately it doesn't :(

If I open the project all the files are there that's not the problem, but the edit is empty. And the whole arrangement and the whole midi stuff was made in the edit and not externally :(

So, everything was OK until you started moving things around?

When you are on the project page are the edits listed?
Are you saying that the edit is there, but when you open it it is empty?

Did you put the .trackion (the file with the tracktion logo)file into the folder along with the edit file?

I once lost an entire song. I don't know if it was Tracktions fault or mine, but I back up all of my edit files into folders in a seperate directory and re-backup with every fairly major advance/change in a tune.

Tracktion does NOT know how to deal with moved files, even if an entire directory is moved and they're still fine 'relative' to one another.

If the edit is completely empty, as in not even any empty clips, that's a different issue, and one I've not seen before.

Yap until I started moving project and audio files everything was ok.

I've now tried to refer the project to all edit files that are in the directory but none did work. Is there maybe a chance to look directly into the edit files to find about more about them, a way to examine where my edit has gone?

- well I've still some parts of the song in backup and another part rendered, maybe I can work somethint out. And if not... then I ve got to start something new.
