Hi Rach, firstly thanks for all the toys.
Secondly why not a forum here on kvr for experimental music, honestly methinks if you were to moderate a forum here there would be substantial interest (check some of the threads here already ).

I don't know if Ben would go for that..after all, there are no other forums devoted to a particular genre. However, there is interest here and only need to keep the particular discusssions going..

Well there are company forums, why not genre forums? I quite like the idea of it actually, but yeah, I guess it's down to Ben.

im with you gary,im not sure ben would go for it, as gary says no other genre is specified foor here and to be honest can you imagine the uproar "ooh the wierdy ambienty experimentallys got their own forumQQQ" we already get enough "this place is overrun by non musician" threads

perhaps the auditorium would in fact be a better breeding ground,they have the music bit already set up for mp3s in genres/styles im sure it would be no prob for spe3d to add a discussion forum

id love to see it at either to be honest and also vote for rachmiel as mod !!!

True, and ,well maybe it could be dressed up a little differently, as in regard to the particular genre thing. Or somewhere in the Production tech forum ?

I get it (Grooves mag) when I can in the UK. Pretty good mag, a little 'chin-stroking' at times but generally enjoyable. I'd pop over to a forum like your mentioning if it gets up and running.

My son runs an experimental music label that has a forum that use to be pretty active although it has not been so this past year or so.

I use to be a big Avante Guard and experimental music fan (had a radio program in college that played alot of the early pioneers in the genre). At that time I was even doing some tape loop experiments for my art projects and also built my own instruments, being influenced by people like Harry Parch.
The type of music I do today is less experimental (there are occassional forays into playing around with more abstract sounds) but I still find some people that are inspiring like my man vurt. An I have appreciated the work you have done for Reaktor, Rachmiel, to be exciting and a breath of fresh air compared to the thousands of 3 osc ens that have permeated the Reaktor user library. What I like moreso now are the experimantal artists that are doing things with real instruments, especially accoustically. There are way too many sites dedicated to strictly electronic music, I would like to see it more broadbased and focus on all sorts of instruementation and not just another electronic glitch noise forum.

Just my 2 cents worth.

seems like most experimentalists move at some point away from the thrill of experimenting to the perhaps deeper thrill of making expressive music (which might or might not include "experimental" elements).

for some reason this hasn't happened with me. rather, i've moved *deeper* into the experimental/outre ... which keeps me happy, but doesn't win me many fans. ;-)

there is much experimental stuff posted.
by experimental i mean outside the norm here,im not sure i can define it any better

searching for experimental music forums
