Hi,
Iv been searching around looking to see if you can run Scarbee VKC on Receptor. Looking to replace my Nord Electro 2 with it. I don't own a Receptor yet but will get one if this product works!
Thanks

Oh right
great stuff! Im 90% there in joining the fold. I'll be selling my Studio Electronics SE1, just have to make up my mind to sell either the Motif ES7 or Electro 2! Im in a less is more mode these days.....
One more thing though while im posting here. Is the memory in the receptor just standard memory for PC's?
Thanks for any replies
Gary

I'm using the Scarbee Kontakt sample libraries (Rhodes and Wurly) and the VKFX. Works great. For live use I made 16 bit versions that fit into RAM so there is a 100% confidence level.
You definitely need to max out your RAM.
Coupled with the VKFX or run through a Twin, these samples just kill any Nord sounds. Not even close, IMO. I A/B'd the Scarbee Wurly against my 200A,
and it was actually better, not to mention more playable from a better keyboard.

check it out at http://www.soundfonts.it/?a=cat&b=2

I use this as well. Very, very good and eats no sample RAM.
My main gig multi has (among other things) Mr. Ray on channel one through the VKFX, and the Scarbee Wurly on another channel (also through the FX). When I need more realism on the Rhodes I load up the Scarbee, but for live, using Mr. Ray for the Rhodes allows me to keep eveything in one multi and not use DFD.

Well thanks for the replies so far! I guess a lot of people have loads of plug ins on their receptors, but i just want enough to cover all the bases and genres of music. However I mainly play jazz funk so im biased towards the old stuff! So I'd like it to have Clavinet, Rhodes, Wurly, Hammond, Synth (mono and polyphonic) sample player for horns and strings, mellotron, acoustic piano. So I was planning on the following to cover them.
Scarbee Bundle
M-Tron - just purchased
Minimonsta
Arp2600V
B4
Pro53
Sample player not sure which but as long as it supports Akai I don't mind! Not clued up on this subject.
Not sure for piano either?
This would be all I need I reckon, so if they all load on to the receptor thats fantastic. Id definitley upgrade to 2gb tho, but reckon i could make do with the standard 40gb drive for just those plugins?!?! The Receptors selling here in UK for £1000 I think it's the cheapest I can find though.
Anyone recommend a good controller to go with Receptor? Must be 73 keys, not looking for weighted though, semi will do great.
Once again, thanks for any replies, your helping me decide for Xmas!

Gary,
One thing you should be aware of is you can't use the Scarbee bundle as-is on Receptor, since it is based on a Halion player. You can only use the sample libraries.

Hi Phil,
Im not quite sure what you mean having never used sample players. Is it you have to load things up different? As long as it makes a sound then i dont mind having to mess around with it. Can you load say a clavinet patch on one half of the keyboard and a rhodes on the other half and have it as one receptor patch? I guess thats what im getting at.
Thanks for the advice

You can do that....but what I'm saying is that if you already own the Scarbee bundle, you may not be able to use any of the sounds on Receptor. THe bundle comes with it's own sample based instrument that does not run on Receptor. I don't know if you can load the samples into another sampler or not. If you don't already own it, get the seperate Sample libraries directly from the Scarbee site.
