I had high hopes for the Boogie but found it to be a let down, I've certainly gotten better results from a real amp into a Groove Tubes Speaker Emulator. I wouldn't be surprised if VHT did a better job of it.
Yeah- I've found the recording outs on Boogie preamps to be a let down in general. Did you try the Recto through the GT, though? That could be a good (but expensive) way to go...

Hi gain on it is not that good.

I am sorry but that is completely wrong. Waves GTR is awesome for high gain. I wish people in here only comented on software they own. It is missleading and quite annoying.

This is a vendor supported site, so you might not want to promote war#z. There should be demos available anyway. The Amplitube 2 and GR 2 both come with nice footpedals. GR 2 will have a looper, which already saves you the $295 for a Boss or Zoom looper, so it is a deal. I certainly would not buy a hardware effect version at this junction. These packages offer too much flexibility and too many out of the box sounds. A $150 desktop and $500 GTR2 gives you more sound and options than a $900 GT9 rack or $800 PodXT pro rack. Waves stuff is tight, but I have to wait and check it out first. For those who are students or who have family that are students, the educational discounts are really good. When I try and mimic a song, sometimes I am not completely happy with a Pod or my Boss or my Amplitube light - but when I want to make a new sound - sometimes a wacked out reverb or freeware(not crackware) plugin makes me play all night...
Virtual hardware is beautiful.

dc12......bad move dude. This isn't the place, as EKen already mentioned!

Post

i don´t think dc12 meant it on a bad way, but yes this a bad move,
regarding GR2 and GTR they are hybrid products, so the software alone could not gave them a full review.

Any of those gizmos when compared with my JCM800 looses, but when compared with the sound of my JCM800 recorded by me... that´s a diferent story,
the only amp emulator i don´t like at all it´s UAD Nigel, really awckward inferior product.

I like a lot to record diferent preamps and then pass them for diferent cabinet Impulse responses it works good with software preamps too.

Welcome to KVR, genius.

Even though I won't advocate warez, the people that were complaining about the Pace infested demo of GTR can check it out.

(Of course, people that complain about the Pace infested demo wouldn't buy GTR anyway because of the copy protection being Pace's anyway.)
Remember the iLokalypse Summer 2013

Samples and presets and free stuff!

Though I don't own GTR, I did play with the demo extensively for 2 weeks.
I even paid $40 for the stupid dongle just to have the privilege of trying out this software. (anybody wants to buy my unwanted dongle? PM me)

In any case I stand behind my opinions.
But hey, if you like it, go for it and be happy.
Me on the other hand will stick to Amplitube because that's the one that makes me happy.
BTW the crunch on GTR is awesome and I doubt anyone can nail it better then GTR..... you see I am not bashing GTR, just voicing my opinion, just like you do.

These days I own very little outboard gear. My two favorite pieces currently are the TC Electronic GForce and the VHT GP-3. They make a great "duo" for guitar. In the interest of honesty, I do know Steve Fryette (the genius behind VHT) personally - he is a great guy and is passionate about guitar tone.

I still haven't played through a software distortion module that is convincing. That said, I have heard people who seem to be getting really nice guitar sounds via software - but I still have no idea how it is done ;)

peace,

Jeez... the time it takes for people to get offended over nothing on KvR these days is less than my latency!

I didn't read dc12's post as promoting warez - rather stating a fact - or at least a fact as he sees it.
He didn't state where to get the said cracks... but simply said that they existed.

So the discussion of the possible existence of warez is offensive now?

:(

Chill out people.

Look at his post again; he seems to be very happy about it.

Yeah ok - didn't notice the smilies - a tad suspect I'll admit... but innocent til proven guilty right?

Anyway - if he's guilty he'll get his beans (& flames) in hell. 8)

I don't think Amplitube 2 comes with the foot pedal. It's a separate purchase unfortunately. :(
