Thanks Urs & Sascha for the replies.

I've looked into it a bit more. It would seem that you're right Sascha, Sonar is causing the problem. Also found that the "w" doesn't work. Can't see that the letters are actually doing anything in Sonar - not activating a short cut that I can see.
Must be some bizarre Canadian software Giant Conglomerate thing to eventually make all our keyboards inoperative by starting to remove letters one by one... :hihi:

Oh well, if I post some presets in the future they will be minus r and w. Shame really, I usually make 2 preset's called a_se and _ank in all my softsynths'.

Urs ... stoopid newbie question.

I'm not understanding this oscillator thing. How do I select basic waveforms (sine, square etc)?

Sorry to be thick. Thanks.

Post

You have to draw them yourself. Rather easy using GeoMorph.
For instance, draw a triangle (using the existing nodes should be sufficient) and select "all smoothed" from the rightclick menu.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Ah... OK. I had the feeling this might be the case, but wasn't sure if I was missing a trick.

Thanks Sascha.

Yep, that's the way.

The final version will have a pull down of course that gives you a range of tens of already setup waveforms.

A good thing to start is the "initialize OSC1" preset (if I havn't taken it out beforehand, but I think it should be there). It comes with some sawtooth variations and a PWM sweep predefined for OSC1.

A sine is easily made by using an FMO instead of a normal osc.

So is that it for the Friday update then, Urs? ;)

Oki, here it is:

On Monday I was finally able to present Z2 to a wider audience.

Since then I have written 14 lines of code that I latter erased because it didn't feel to me as good as I thought (hidden cursor on knobs and stuff, like OhmForce or FruityLoops). Maybe I put it back as an option. But I don't like it that much. Thanks to scuzzphut anyway for giving me the right pointers!

The rest of the time was spent in the forums and in my mail application.

I've been flooded with emails. Sorry if I can't answer them all in depth...

Hilite of the week were the photos people sent in! I got photos of Moogs, Oberheims, Rolands, Korgs and others. I especially like the ones that took "Retired & Replaced" very serious. You havn't seen a dinosaur being crossgraded if you havn't seen a Matrix 12 in a trash can! Or that tasty System 100 diving into the garbage. Or that pile of analog gear waiting for the bulky waste. The gallery will soon go online, when the wonderful pieces have all been replaced.

All in all it was a cool week. Naturally. Just look at the feedback on Z2 everywhere

Cheers,

;) Urs

Speaking of... (apologies if this has been covered, but this thread is mighty)...

Do we that "participated" in the 1.5 group buy back in the day still get in on that? I didn't actually purchase at that time, instead waiting to actually have the code (excitedly waiting for my download link). But I've been watching this thread the entire time.

So does our theoretical faith in this plug's brilliance pay off for us?

Cheers, A future Zebra fan.

The Coupon Code is still valid with Z1.5. And when you purchase Z1.5 at Group Buy conditions now, you'll get the update to V2 or free 8)

It's friday again, ...

but should we still except weekly updates now that a demo of Zebra2 is available?

By the way, I have bought it already, rock solid on my windows machine, intimidating but still very accessible for (semi?) modular synth.

Yeah..! :dog: :nutter: :scared:

I bet they fished it out right after the photo and lovingly polished and caressed it for 2 hours... hehe

I didn't bother doing my Moog in the end as you said you already had one. Actually I was going to do a pile of keyboards that I have now sold but most of them have been shipped off now...

Huh? Why? Only because I already have one?

I can, uhm, our word is "zuscheissen", you with Roland Junos and different kinds of Prophets (I do love all of these though! They're always welcome!). A Moog is a Moog and 50 bucks are 50 bucks.

I also get quite some funny crossgrade pics. The wife of one crossgrader seems to have decided that her husband has to take over more work now (for the Zebra budget I guess) and so she added a pic with alot of household goods that are retired & replaced by Zebra now

Well, I almost have a bad conscience. I'm so deep into development again that I didn't realize it's Friday

I have started on an idea for step sequencers that even the beta group doesn't know about, yet. In Z1.5 they were identical with the MultiStage envelopes. In Z2 they will be not. Hint: They'll be visible alongside with the MSEGs, but they will not be extra modules.

This has caused me a lot of headaches. Another bottom tab for step sequencers was just not the way to go. I don't want people to have to switch between panes, especially not for rhythmical stuff (well, can't do much about the arpeggiator here...). I think the new way will be pretty exciting news once I get it to work properly!

Cheers,

;) Urs

More rhythmic options

Great news for me.

It would be nice if there is a way to let the rhythmic parts have a slowly evolving part/algorithm (via LFO???), so the rhythms do not exactly repeat ...
