Well then, you should learn how to read properly. He's was pretty blatantly encouraging people to try out the warez version...John Vulich wrote:ghost666 wrote:Jeez... the time it takes for people to get offended over nothing on KvR these days is less than my latency!

So the discussion of the possible existence of warez is offensive now?

Chill out people.
So now that I've posted a bunch of smilies...
I'm sure that if someones breaking the rules, the mods will take care of it without your 2 cents.
A lotta paranoia around here lately - still gives citizen cops a life I suppose.

Tried both. I played guitar for about 17 years. I owned several real good tube amps (jcm800 2203, Princeton reverb, AC15, Bassman blackface...etc). I was pleasently surprised by GR2 in hi-rez mode, the more I play it, the more I think It's the best amp sim so far. It just lacks some natural compression on clean sounds. The vox isn't very convincing. Beside this the jcm800 is close to the real thing, and the SVT make it worth the price. Now GTR was the biggest desapointment. Waves is supposed to make high quality stuff. GTR is just embarrasing and sounds nowthing close to a tube amp. Reminds me an old plugin by beatmodel. Sounds like the worst solid state practice amp. Awful, just simple as that. I'm not sure the hardware input device make it sound a lot better. My DI is pretty good (why would them release a demo then?). The FX section isn't bad nor stunning.
Still waiting for AT2, to make the final choice (if it come out someday).

The case with GR2 is the work they had with the presets they are a lot better than version 1.
The JCM800 impersonator is quite good, i mean decent, mine had a transistor rectifier which could be switched on\off, but there was a setting that was a true hearth shaker, Bass and Mids all the way up and a treble roll off, so as the EQ was passive i got the most powerfull tone i had in all my life, body and roar a plenty.
I tried that on GR2´s JCM 800, it doesn´t even cames close, but aside that particular setting it was pretty convincing.
GTR is a lot more prone to achive American Vintage sound, a overdriven Vibrolux or Twin, the kind of sound a person doesn´t get to listen how raunchy and overdriven just the rigth amount untill is on tape, i like it very much too, om the fullblown department
browsing the presets isn´t enough, some tweaking is needed at last with the guitar i tested it,a Godin electro-acoustic GK2-a ready.
The FX section on both is impressive but the GTR noise gate is one of the best i ever tried hardware or software,i would pay the price of all the package just to get a noise gate this good, even better than RenVox on guitars of course.

How the f**k am i exhibiting paranoia? I believe that I was pretty clear that I just don't want to see usefull threads unnecessarily locked because of this kind of crap. How is that supposed to make me paranoid? The point is I don't want the mods taking care of the problem. They'll just lock or delete the thread.ghost666 wrote:![]()

Man, the lack of literacy and critical thinking from some people around here just blows my mind sometimes.

Hit a nerve did I? Take a pill man.
And while we talking literacy... who's using the expletives?
But hey, this could go on all night & I have a gig to play... & dude here's a piece of advice - don't worry so much about something thats probably nothing - you'll live longer!

I use NI Combos for guitarwork.
The AC30 sim is really brilliant.
I started off preferring the Marshall and Fender sims as they seemed to "do more".
But when simply looking at tone-for-tone realism, the AC30 wins for me.
With amp sims, I think it's easy to be influenced by the number of fx on board, or the amount of presets.
When really it's about the raw tone.
This rule applies to synths and samples as much as amp sims.
Which is why Amplitude does so well.
It just sounds so good and guitarry

While we're here, has anyone got experience of Green Machine?

GM is nice for some clean and slightly overdriven tone.but it's not good for higain. While we're here, has anyone got experience of Green Machine?
i like GTR,after few hours of tweaking i can get some really nice higain sounds,it's great for solos too, other effect are very good, one thing i disslike is a metal distortion.
high res in GR2 is a huge improvment, now GR2 is very usable (it doesn't sound thin and lifless like previous version)
i really think is great to have them both ,GTR and GR2 are the best amp sim right now IMO.still waiting for amplitube 2.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Not directly maybe but one could say, generally, that it's the illiterate that tend to the use of expletives... & yet here we have someone commenting on & feeling obviously qualified to judge the literacy of others (or lack of) & then swearing in the same sentence!Andrew Vernon wrote:Literacy and iliteracy has fcuk all to do with expletives Ghost.
I thought it was funny anyway!
