Yeah, yeah. Anyway, you conveniently skirted my question. How am I being paranoid? I think that you entirely misread my intent about the issue here.ghost666 wrote:Not directly maybe but one could say, generally, that it's the illiterate that tend to the use of expletives... & yet here we have someone commenting on & feeling obviously qualified to judge the literacy of others (or lack of) & then swearing in the same sentence!
I thought it was funny anyway!

Ok if I misread anything then all apologies.
I didn't wanna get into the flames... my whole reason for posting to this thread was to stop that & simply 'coz it seemed that someone might have been getting a hard time for next to nothing.
If the guy was talking up warez then your words were probably warranted, if not - well I guess we'll never know for sure anyway.
Man there's been a lot of crazytalk & anger on KvR recently & I just felt the need to comment at the time.
I was lurking here for years before I ever made a post & KvR today 'aint the same.
Anyway, now I've really gotta go - peace/truce/timeout.

the whole point is:
i really want to try GTR and without having an iLok i can't even demo it,like many people here i don't like wave's politics with dongle and i didn't want to buy one, demo of GR2 has expired immediately after installation??? so i can't try it without reinstall my system.(i'm not the only one with this gr2 problem, there are many people who are complain about this on NI forum)
this is the reson why i've mentioned crack.
i really didn't want to encouraging people to try warez.
if i want to promote warez i'll say something like:
"here is the link for...."

Hi Kev,kevvvvv wrote:
I use NI Combos for guitarwork.
The AC30 sim is really brilliant.
I started off preferring the Marshall and Fender sims as they seemed to "do more".
But when simply looking at tone-for-tone realism, the AC30 wins for me.
With amp sims, I think it's easy to be influenced by the number of fx on board, or the amount of presets.
When really it's about the raw tone.
This rule applies to synths and samples as much as amp sims.
Which is why Amplitude does so well.
It just sounds so good and guitarry
...
While we're here, has anyone got experience of Green Machine?
do you know if the guitar combos are the same stuff as in guitar rig?
Best wishes, FRitz
In the end will be the word.

no,the models in guitar combos sound exactly the same like models in GR1,you can export combos presets and open it in GR1 too see which components are being used.stag wrote:Guitar Combos sound a lot better than GR1, so probably their code is used on GR2.

That's my impression too - combos were stripped out of GR1 so that more people could afford to get in on the act.

I had the Nomad demo for two weeks.anon wrote:What about the Nomad factory stuff, any one tried that?
It sounds very nice but it has a different sound then the others.
I would describe it as somewhat lo-fi, like as if somebody went to a live concert and made a bootleg recording as oppose to a polished studio sound.
As far as the Blue Tube bundle the Chorus in there is amazing on guitar, better then the Boss from UAD in my opinion.
In any case I didn't end up purchasing any Nomad plugs but if they would have sold the Chorus separately I would buy it.

They both sound good. The Guitar Rig's interface is more "fun," especially since they did clever little ripoffs of the modeled amps' names and logos (Twin Reverb=Twang Reverb, Mesa=Same).
Try them both, trust your ears.

But in terms of real use, Combos are the best bits of GR, particularly the AC30.
Plus I don't need the fx or the GR pedal, so Combos is fine.
At the end of the day it probably all hinges on what you think an overdriven guitar ought to sound like.
Most sims sound too harsh or gritty to my ears. I like a smoother overdrive - not clean - but not too fuzzy either.
With the Input Gain on the AC30 Combo I can set exactly the right amount of overdrive tone I need.
This is so simple yet so effective.
By contrast, multi-knob complexity is often bollocks masquerading as "enhanced technology".
But if you picked up a real guitar, you'd know in seconds if it was a beaut or not.
Same with sims. It doesn't take all day to find out.

Apart from the tuning issue (irrelevant for now), I could probably get a better sound out of any of my old-skool emulations, a Zoom 9002 (the shittiest thing ever) included.dc12 wrote:here's short clip made with GTR (hi-gain)it's only guitars.

Muddy, mid-ish, no pumping, no clarity.
Sorry, not impressed.

I agree, I like the same sound, but I like an attack with a bite to it....not just sims, but amps too.....some have to soft or smooth an attack. Most sims sound too harsh or gritty to my ears. I like a smoother overdrive - not clean - but not too fuzzy either.
again I totally agree, I know if I like a guitar very quick...some just seem to call to me. But the same holds true for amps...I had my plexi for years, it was modded (100 watt head), it was my baby. I plugged into a Boogie SOB and 5 minutes later was heading home to get the plexi for a trade...shocked the hell out of my best friend...but it was a very , very good decision...But if you picked up a real guitar, you'd know in seconds if it was a beaut or not.
