I am using a Presonus Firebox with an HP laptop, and am having difficulty with my audio input channel settings--I can only get a signal recorded to either the R or L channel. My preamp inputs (1+2) are being identified in Tracktion as "Mic/InstIn 1&2 left + Mic/InstIn 1&2 right", defaulting in as a stereo pair. If I unclick "treat as a stereo channel pair", then it identifies them as "Mic/InstIn 1&2 left" and "Mic/InstIn 1&2 right". The upshot is, if I plug a single instrument or mic into channel 1, it records it in the left audio channel only, and into input 2 will record into the right audio channel only. I have not figured out how to change the setting so Tracktion will recognize input 1 as plain old input 1, and not a left-side only channel.
It is worth mentioning that I am using Tracktion demo, version 1.5. I otherwise like the interface and would possibly like to purchase T2 after the holidays are over.

why such an old demo? there are T2 demos freely available. Also, if your inputs are not being treated as stereo pairs (are there seperate input arrows for each input?) Tracktion only records a mono file, at least, this is the way it's always worked for me, through at least 4 different soundcards.

Glurgle,
There are separate arrows, yes, but the issue is not whether the file is mono or not. It is where Tracktion chooses to route my signal from the sound card as it records. In your experience, has Tracktion always recorded signals from one input in the Left channel only, and from others in the Right channel only?

I end up with vocals left guitar right etc. WTF??
